It’s the door cladding. Got it off the accessory store. Mainly got it because I park in the city and don’t trust people to not hit other cars while opening the door…
Yeah, I hate door dings. Sliders do the same thing, except they exact some revenge on the offending vehicles.

I live in the city also. Mine is the vehicle way out in left field with nothing around it. Going on 8 years without a single door ding.
