Hello everyone. It's been a week since we picked up our Bronco from Dewey Ford in Ankeny. The whole process went pretty smoothly. We had decided to move between the time we put it on order and the time it was finally delivered. Flew into Des Moines last Wednesday around noon, they picked us up, signed some paperwork, saw some friends, and headed out about 5PM. Got home to Fort Myers around 4PM that Friday.

The Defender 110X we picked up on 31 December. If anyone is curious about comparisons or our thoughts in general, feel free to ask away. As far as vehicles in this segment go, we've had an FJ Cruiser, LR4, and Discovery 5. Never been Jeep owners other than a lease on a Grand Cherokee for my mother in law so don't have much insight as far as Wranglers go.

Can't wait to tinker around with parts and vinyl.

Thanks. We are actually pretty darn happy with it. I think it suits the Florida lifestyle perfectly. Could have used some ventilated seats and a beverage cooler 🤣, but that's just me making an effort to be nitpicky.

With the 2.7 it doesn't seem to be lacking on power. My wife thought and I both thought it tracked very well. Stable. Precise for what it is. Versus other vehicles, it did take a couple minutes on the first few trips to get used to the noise with the soft top. Hearing vehicles around you and such. The top of the 718 has two layers and back glass. I've only had a few vehicles with removable tops and this is the loudest. However, I would compare it to the in cabin noise on a jetliner. Manageable.

Oh just noticed you have a Thor Vegas. The only other Ford (well Ford chassis) we've owned come to think about it was a 2019 Hurricane 34J. Sold it once we moved here.

I see that your picture that you’re in the military or served. If so, thank you for your service buddy. Enjoy the journey .. maybe I might even see you out there.

I'm in Florida as well and have ordered a 2 door. I am hoping I can switch out the seats for ventilated using the ac vent to the back seats to cool my arse.

I thought I heard somewhere that you weren't supposed to do all your breaking in at one speed so we were sure to explore the entire range 😉.

@BroncoFish Just ordered his Defender. I'm sure he would like to hear some comparisons! (me too)

I'm always excited to hear the new and creative ways LR can come up with to pack it up once the warranty expires. We finally 86'd our Rover after the quarterly service visits and $800 parts bills stacked the odds against it.

Going from 0 to 70 when getting on the freeway is probably not considered “varying your speed”! Ha

I heard the governor lets you go to 101. Quick glance and it seems the MTs are probably Q rated?

Good to know!

When mine is released from Dirt Mountain we’ll fly from ATL to DTW. Uber 11 miles to my dealer and pick up my bronco!
Visit family and friends for a few days racking up as many miles as we can and then drive back to Georgia!
