Picking up mannequin for a test drive.

Picking up my dealers mannequin this afternoon and will get to keep it till Sunday to test drive. Pretty excited to be able to have it that long to be able to take my time and look it over. It's a base Outer Banks in Iconic Silver and soft top. They did upgrade the seats to the leather from what I see. 2022 Wildtrack will be ordered as soon as the order banks open.

Spent Friday evening and all day Saturday driving the roads around my home and a little short road trip to Red River Gorge and drove some forestry roads, nothing too strenuous, passing GMC Terrain and such on gravel roads, so nothing hard-core. Very pleased with the ride and fit and finish for what it is. It's not the wife's Explorer ST by any means, but it wasn't built to be. I'm 6'2" and 230 and was very comfortable. Plenty of headroom and leg room while driving. The view out the windshield looking at the hood, brought me back to the very early 80's, when I had one of my '77's. The body lines and fender roll are just so cool, Ford nailed the look.

Played with the G.O.A.T. modes some and Trail Turn Assist, One Pedal or whatever it's called, all super smooth transition from one to the other.

Received some love from some of the passing Jeep peeps and that was cool. Lots of questions from people when we were parked eating dinner at Miguel's up at the gorge.

Super excited to order our '22 Wildtrack!! Hopefully Ford stays on schedule and opens the order banks in September for production to start in December.

Do you mean the performance? Because reviews of the interior fit and finish of the new Exploders have been… not great. Hoping we don’t see the same for the bronco.

The ST is somewhat better as far as finish. Bronco has alot of plastic, which it was designed to be used top down and be able to clean it up. Better sound deadening, of course I was driving soft top. Be interesting to compare a hardtop version with sound deadening panels. We'll see.
