I've seen seen it mentioned a few times, but had not seen pictures, and thought I'd make it easy for folks to see and find these. I used the Roadmaster Nighthawk Offroad 8k setup (RM-676) with the RM-035-1 Jeep adapters. Zero modifications required, as long as you have modular bumper.

Still doing the rest of the setup from the amazing info here, but going with the Roadmaster Brakemaster air actuated system, seeing our new Dutch Star has the air setup in back (third pic of the new bus and what the Badsquatch will look like behind it).

I used the same adapters for the D ring mounts on the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar I already had. I found a problem with the style of pins used to lock the large pin into the mounts. The wire separates where it loops into the top of the pin and the wire falls off. Not sure if this description is clear or not, don't know what else to call them. Referring to the wire in a 180* loop that locks the small locking pin into the large pin. That wire loop fell off on mine, and I was fortunate that there was enough tension on the pin that it didn't fall out. I replaced them with a better style locking pin, the type with a full circle that pushes down and locks.

Also, since you commented to use an air brake system, if you haven't already looked at it, check out the Air Force One air brake system. I have it on my coach and Jeep, and will be moving it over from the Jeep to the Bronco. Simple, and it works very well.

I ended up using a couple soft shackles I had to hook up the safety cables. Didn't have anything else to fit through the hole below the 7/8" hole that the large pin goes through.

Thanks for the separate thread!

Other forum members are doing the same as you and also adding separate attachment points for the safety cables.

I’m also a Demco AF1 auxiliary brake system user and it’s been working great with my 2020 Dutch Star. I’d recommend it.

Lastly, if you’ve got the 2.7 liter engine in your Bronco you’ll need to follow the TSB and pull fuses. A link can be provided to that if needed.

She's a 2019 Dutch Star 4018 that we just picked up with 2700 delivery miles on it. Nothing used on it, toilets never used, bed still has plastic on it, completely pristine.

I just ordered and received the RM-035-1 D-Ring mounts for my Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar. They opening is just a hair too narrow to fit around the bumper mount. Was yours a tight fit?

What braking system are you using for the Bronco? I have a brake master kit laying around but don’t know if it will work on the Bronco. Also did you get a wiring kit for the Bronco or external light kit?

I used the Brakemaster setup. It definitely works.

Just sold my bus, so looking at converting to overlanding now.

Feel sad, because we had flat towing completely down.
