So I learned so many things speaking to one of the Ford Reps. One being what was causing the delay of the Modular Black Hard tops.
Please fill us in on what you learned, on the tops and anything else please?

Anyways, if thereā€™s someone from ford that actually knows any thing Iā€™ll ask questions if you guys have any.
I would like a close up of the hardtop. As I donā€™t think the gray will look good on my color choice and not sure how I feel about the shiny black one either.

So did I decide to upgrade to the SAS pkg? I still can't say. In my case I like the upgraded BL wheels so $1,500 seems like a lot to pay for a better factory look from the side while sacrificing my wheel preference. The additional clearance would be welcomed but I think going with some 285/75r17s the next time around would get me pretty close while keeping the rims and flares I like.
Iā€™ve had similar thoughts. Iā€™m upgrading *only* the wheels on the BL (and not the tires as well), which is about $1k... then I was thinking 285/75r17 as well.
So I learned so many things speaking to one of the Ford Reps. One being what was causing the delay of the Modular Black Hard tops. I was dead set on having that on my Build. I am considering changing to the MIC top, but I dont like the MIC top on the Black Bronco.
I understand that you are not necessarily free to share everything, but this is very concerning to me.

Is there a problem inherent in the Mod top that should keep people from opting for it, or is it more of an engineering delay that will be remedied and you personally arenā€™t interested in waiting?

Looking at the 285/75r17, in load rating C, there are only 2, I wish there were more or even in an S/L(P) load rating. Most are load rating E, which will beat you to death as a daily driver.

those had preproduction tops. Do not go by the color of those. The production one are reported to be darker. The actual MIC is supposed to be close to the Carbonized Gray color.

So I learned so many things speaking to one of the Ford Reps. One being what was causing the delay of the Modular Black Hard tops. I was dead set on having that on my Build. I am considering changing to the MIC top, but I dont like the MIC top on the Black Bronco. Seeing the Overland setup in person, I really like the Color Combo. Changing that will take me out of the dreaded 99 order code and go in to the assembly line once the machine starts cranking broncos out. I was also a NON Squatch build, and was going out on my own. Talking to other people in person that are enthusiast potential customers really have me rethinking the aftermarket. Sasquatch for anyone that wants to get a lift should do it. Because of the problems that can arise from a brand new 4x4 and a aftermarket kit. Since we dont know anything about anything at this point its playing the safe bet on a factory manufactured release of a brand new product.
The last thing is I was going with the 2 door. For what I'm going to be using my bronco for, I was getting opinions thrown at me, telling me I should get the 4 Door. But thats another story. lol.

Gotta do some soul searching today.
Yeah I have not ordered yet as I donā€™t think either of the hardtop options are going to work with my color choices.

I had an in-depth discussion with the Ford rep yesterday and specifically around tops. As you can see the Mod top on the two door does have the gunners hatch. He specifically stated that top would be the same as the production top. Color, finish, texture, etc.....

He also mentioned every 6 months a ā€œspecial editionā€ would be released and the ā€œEvergladesā€ version that was being released was pretty sweet.

I drove down from Jenks (Tulsa area) which was about 90 miles. I was both satisfied that I was able to finally see what my money was being spent on but at the same time disappointed that these displays werenā€™t interactive.

Any additional info on the Everglades edition? Farley teased last fall that a green would look nice on it. There has been no other teases other than a confirmed trademark on the name and Farley mentioning a green. Some have speculated that EVerglades could be an electric version or a hybrid and might be the connection to the "green" that Farley was teasing.

Nothing specific other than he mentioned different fender configurations and some throw back designs. Nothing on color or additional details. In all honesty I was focusing on specifics for my FE and Walktrak builds and what potential timelines were.

Looking at the 285/75r17, in load rating C, there are only 2, I wish there were more or even in an S/L(P) load rating. Most are load rating E, which will beat you to death as a daily driver.

https://tiresize.com/tiresizes/285-75R17.htm
Yep. I have 285/75r17s on my Jeep right now and they are E rated... and pretty heavy compared to a C rated tire.... but that width in a 34ā€ height tire is a really sweet spot. I think this will especially be true on a Badlands.

My plan is to keep the factory 285/70s on the BL until some manufactures start to offer the 285/75 in more reasonable load ratings / weights. Weā€™ve already seen more of them being offered in just the past few years, and thereā€™s obviously a market for them.

I love how they look on my Jeep, but Iā€™m going to take what I learned on that to resist the urge to do the same on the Bronco until I have better options.
