I can't help but laugh at the people who are so adamantly opposed to hybrids or EV's haha. These are the same people that refuse to accept they they're going bald & keep riding out that comb-over. Do you hate color tv too? Smart phones? Medical advances? LOL #PlaySomeSkynardMan
At least Google the correct spelling.

lol. Keeping my bronco. Actually waiting on the warthog also. There is a bill working itself through Congress that if a hybrid is built in a union factory then it will qualify for a 12,500 tax credit. Rumor has it that the warthog will have a hybrid option. If this all works out then I will buy 2.
As with anything regarding legislation, and the government in general - It not that simple!

They put quite a few conditions into the proposal, including a maximum cost of 80K. I guess they didn't like the idea of continued tax breaks for Ferrari, Bentley, and other high-end offerings.

From the little information I've seen it wouldn't be too surprising for the Bronco hybrid to cost more than that after you add a few options, especially if it's only offered in Warthog Badging.

Another provision is US manufacture adding $2500 to the existing $7500 credit, could be problematic for Ford with the Mach e being built in Mexico and China.

Union manufactured vehicles would add an additional $2500 to the existing $7500 credit. Could be a negative factor for Tesla.

It would also eliminate the current 200k production limitation that both GM and Tesla have surpassed making them currently ineligible for any credit.

I’ve spent that on “economy” vehicles daily driving to work when I had a 40 mile commute each way plus travel through the day for the job.
I'm gonna sound like someones Granddad, but I had to drive 90 miles one way to the Space Center every day for 12hr days, for three years. In a sh¡t box dodge ram that got 10mpg, praying the transmission didnt leave me stranded. $400 a month would have been a blessing back then.

I commuted for a year from the Avalon Park area of Orlando to the SSPF with my 2007 Mustang GT w/ 4.10s and cams. Ends up around an hour each way. Mustang was just drinking fuel! Ended up moving closer (a condo on SR3/Courtenay) to cut down on drive time. No idea what I spent in fuel but I was certainly at the gas station a lot!

A prius is a terrible car, no doubt about it. But that doesn't mean you gotta throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Hard pass...definitely not my cup of tea. This is what makes a vehicle sexy...

Pretty bold statement generalizing individuals. To answer your questions...i love my color TV and smart phone. I’m all for medical advances.

BTW I have a full head of hair, but I actually choose to shave it bald so there’s that.

0 for 4 on your assumptions. Please try again.

Ah, gotta have that V8. I get it.

Just so you you, the first car, the Porsche? V8.
The second one, the McLaren? V8.
The Ferrari at the end? A measly V12.

I like old cars too, man. A '69 Judge (in orange, of course) is still a dream car of mine. Yet, every single car I've had has been faster, more reliable, handles better, more efficient, and more fun to drive than a classic could hope to be.

I try to remember there's a difference between romanticizing the past, and fetishizing it at the expense of life moving forward

v8 is too rich for my blood. I was watching a trx review where the owner said gas is 400 a month. Can you imagine buying a 90-100k truck and then on top of that paying 400 a month in fuel?
I used to commute in an Escalade (2010). I spent between $1600 and $2000 a month in fuel..... what’s $400/month in MPG?
