Im cheap and have one of these. Works great on my other vehicles. Why spend $400 on a ARB?

I currently own a makita 12v cxt air compressor (MP100DZ). Wondering how long your harbor freight 12v takes to fill your tires. I've never worried about the makita filling car tires, but with a 50% duty cycle (5min on 5min off) and 315/70s sounding like a lot of air I'm not sure how many 4.0ah batteries and how much time I would need to get off the beach. Curious on your harbor freight experience because it seems to have a low cfm rating like mine.

Takes me about 6 minutes to air up all 33 inch tires at once from 18-38psi with my 400P. I'll be testing the 315/70R17s next weekend.

What about the smittybuilt 2781, I have one. It works great and is quick.
I have that one also and it is very quick.
Can't beat it for the price.

I have the ARB, the same one Ford sells in my Bronco (so the single cylinder, not dual). Filling up the 35s on the Sasquatch takes a few minutes, but not terribly long, I'd estimate around 15min or so total for all 4 wheels. The only issue I have is less with the compressor, more with the wheels, the valve is recessed in a strange way and can make it difficult to engage any form of filler.

As mentioned, it does get very hot and it's one more box to take up space in the truck. I plan on mounting mine in the rear somewhere once a solution is available to do so.

That's incredibly cheap compared.
Duty cycle? Meaning how often does it stop due to overheating and you have to wait...

HF is notoriously bad at putting important details in any description.
Honestly I never really had any problems or cared too much. I can fill up all 4 tires in about 15 or 20 minutes. By the time I fill up the tires, check my cargo, eat a snack and get ready to head off from the trail to road I could care less about the time spent on filling my tires. Its only $70 bucks. Give it a whirl what more could you lose?

If people want to spend $500 to fill up in less time by all means buy the fancy compressor with hoses to fill all 4 tires at once.

For context, I got the ARB portable twin, fills up a 35 inch tire from 15-39 in 2 minutes 10 seconds. Chucks and air hose diameter will vary the fill times so careful doing comparisons.

My favorite chucks are the
(3 tooth chuck manual lock)
Haltec H-5265 Standard Bore Lock-On Air Chuck

(2 tooth push to lock)
Steelman 60137 Lock On Style Closed 1/4-Inch FPT Air Chuck

Both chucks fit the standard SAS wheels, but are tight.

Another vote for the 400p. A very solid and quality unit in my experience.

I guess I'm different as I would recommend the Power Tank setup. I have (2) tanks so with a little thought I'm never in a situation where I don't have a full tank. It's quick and simple. I've tried the ARB etc....if you've got plenty of time they do work.

I'm like the other post. When I'm done for the day I don't really care how long it takes to air up my tires. I mean I don't want to be there for hours, but taken 20 minutes to get some chow, stretch your legs before the ride home, take a wiz, whatever I'm fine with.

I have this. Use it around the house, can hook up to the cigarette lighter or the inverter.

I have a CO2 tank and I just got the Napa twin cylinder. Its fast. I have a setup to air all 4 at the same time, I can do all of my tires at the same time in under 3 minutes, from 16 to 36psi. 285/70r17 KO2s.

I have the CO2 for air tools if needed now.

I didn't read everyones post so sorry if this is redundant..

I have the dual stage ARB with air tank all in one portable box. "so i can use it on family vehicle on road trips" yes 800 buck is crazy but I have had is for over 5yrs and it has never let me down and my normal trip is around 1500-2000 miles off road with several air ups and downs along the way several friend had many different type non are as good. Seems the cheaper ones overheat and need a break sometimes. If your normal air up/down is on say 32's and under cheap o will get you by 35's and bigger spend the money and get a good one. While every one is spending 30 min you will be done in 12 just my 2 cents ps Power tanks work great if you do day or weekend trips. Just doesn't work on multi week trip unless you want to stop and get a CO fill up Easier to set a bead with Power tank also
