Not to steal anyone elses thunder, but watching the last buttercup video about her alternator she mentions that AIG may be working on something to help protect our Alternators when "going wild"

I can't wait to see what they come up with!

If this is for the 2.7L maybe it allows more water fording depth?

The main thing I've learned from that video is that if I go through a muddy or wet trail I should spray down the entire underside of the vehicle with the bash plates removed. for the 2.3 that may even spray down the alternator who's cooling fins can get dirt/mud embedded in them. I assume the same for the 2.7.

Changed the wording to hopefully be more clear. Figures folks would get I was referring to using the Bronco to go off-road with the alternator not being in the ideal location.

Exactly. Krista mentioned that she didn’t take her Bronco in the water on that trip. So all the mud and sand her dad dug out of that alternator was from previous excursions. If you send it hard, you need to do maintenance more often.

But I do look forward to what IAG comes up with to prevent this from happening.

The amount of times I hear that saying and the amount of times people ignore it driving a civic is unbelievable. It’s like another sport here in H-Town!

I just watched the 3 of 3 video/ reason for her alternator issues, and as most of us figured it wasn't Ford's fault but just user error.
Two ways to learn, research or experience, but I'm betting she learned.
