Possible MY22 AMB solution

So little back story, back in the 1980s my Dad had a side hustle of making motorcycle helmets for Daytona Bike Week swap meets. It was good gig before Florida abolished their helmet laws. So anyway Dad made custom fiberglass shells in a multitude of shapes and colors. The most expensive was a House Of Kolor pink pearl. Everyone wanted it. Small work shop and a little over spray he found if you put pink pearl over black, you get a dark metalluc blue.
What y'all see as this amazing Antimatter Blue, I see my Dad's old Panhead.

Solution, get a black Bronco. I'm not making a joke about AMB looking like black, I'm genuinely serious.
Afterwards, hit that with HOK pink pearl.
My Dad did, and loved it so much he did his Triumph, of which I still have the tank from. The Panhead, not so much; he sold it to pay for his cancer treatments.
Y'all might tell me to pound sand, but thats cool. Just though I'd share, and wish y'all the best in deciding on an alternative idea for what you had your heart set on.

Not intended to be sad, I was just talking to my wife how Ford was killing off AMB, and it reminded me of my Dad's prized bike. I love the color, but I liked VB more. I picked it because it was more like my Grandfathers 74 Eldorado.

Love hearing stories about accidental discoveries by people playing around with different ideas in the shop. Thanks for sharing. Makes me wonder what my modern Triumph would look like in that color

Yep, they're ditching the AMB, but the Super Duty's are currently showing AMB AND Atlas Blue as choices ...I wonder if Altas moves over to the Bronco line as well. Sort of inbetween AMB and Velocity.
The Sport BabyBronco has Alto Blue as an option, it is VERY dark also.

I dont work in the assembly plant, so I'm not 100% positive; but I was informed solid colors dont get clear, just the metal flake colors.
Supposed reason was that the metal flake paints are thinner to save on cost. But have a tendancy to wear and fall out, so the clear is an added measure to "lock it in".
Again, I'm not a professional painter so I could be extremely misinformed.

99% sure all new vehicles are basecoat clearcoat regardless of finish

LOL ... and in another thread When I stated that ALTO was similar to AMB .....another poster insisted it is the SAME as AMB.

Either way, I really liked it on the Sport I saw.
I KNEW they didn't use AMB on the Sport, but when I saw the Alto one locally, I was still prompted to get out and check the window sticker to verify it wasn't AMB ... it is that dark.
