Possible to put a tow hitch on a plate instead?

This has been on my mind for a long time. The heavy duty bumper anchor points come off. Would it be possible to put a tow hitch on a plate instead? That way a winch, hooks, loops, tow hitch etc could be put in there. Basically put photo 1 into the frame rails with a plate to bolt down and just enough sticking out to be able to put the pin in.

can't really picture it but get the general idea (y)

people have been mounting receiver sockets on front ends for years, usually one in the center.

Good idea. Then you can mount all kinds of rear hitch brackets up front as well as in back. Or even a light duty snow plow as there are some that mount like this
