I want to buy this, but have a couple of questions:
  1. I have a non-SAS Badlands and put SAS wheels and tires on it. Do I need to tell the installer to input the new 35” tires or is this a setting I will change after they install this?
  2. I plan on doing CAI, exhaust, etc., does it matter if I do this before or after the tune is installed?
  3. Do I need to tell the installer that I want sport mode or is this setting I can change after install?

Tire size and gear ratios can be adjusted with the device once the ford performance calibration is installed.

No adjustments in the calibration are needed for adding an intake, exhaust or intercooler. If however you add downpipes which have aftermarket cats or no cats at all you will throw a cel light. Not much you can do regarding that except some o2 simulators.

I don’t believe you have the ability to make the vehicle start off in a specific drive mode. The modes can still be adjusted with your GOAT dial just like it did with the stock calibration.

Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

Just installed our ProCal tune yesterday 12/30/24 and I was pleasantly surprised that my auto-start-stop remained off when I drove it again today. So the A.S.S. memory feature hasn't been removed from the latest version of the calibration like some have reported.

Did you install an "Auto Stop Eliminator" behind your dash at one point, or perhaps install a pre-summer 24 version of the tune, or maybe tested it under conditions where your computer deemed unnecessary to stop your engine?

Ford wanted CARB state approval to enlarge their market for the ProCal tune, so they had to force A.S.S. to be always on (as CARB thinks saving every drop of gas is a good thing). A.S.S. disabling through the latest version of the ProCal tune has definitely been removed...

I installed this on my 2023 about 17 months ago. It's done that since day one. Once turned off with the switch it remains off until I reactivate it after any number of days.

Just for clarification, this is because you have the pre CARB (pre-summer 24 version or older) version of the tune installed on your Bronco. If you were to download the latest version on your laptop, load it unto your ProCal, and install it on your Bronco, A.S.S would be enabled by default upon every start-up and you would not be able to stop that from happening (that feature would be missing from the ProCal itself).

In other words, avoid updating your tune if you want to keep A.S.S. disabled.

The weird thing is they’re still disabling it for other models. I’ve done 2 Explorer ST’s and a Raptor Ranger recently that all still had the tune disable Auto Start Stop
Not sure why the Bronco is different.

As someone whose day job is (only in part thank God) wrestling with Medicare/Medicaid/Big Insurance to get doctors paid, I wonder if it is as simple as who Ford ran into in the CARB bureaucracy the day they submitted their Bronco tune for approval. Randomness & arbitrariness of such institutions is just part of their DNA...

We all live in a Franz Kafka novel now

somewhere else on this forum, the explanation was that the BRONCO would loose some EPA certification (not CARB) since it had never tested by the EPA with the ASS disabled.

maybe ford's opt'd not spend the $$$ for the bronco PROCAL certification retesting

Nope. Just downloaded everything last night. A.S.S. remembers the setting. Doesn't turn back on even after driving it around all day. Have owned the Bronco since new. No eliminator installed.

Is this still the case now?
