Post your 2.7L Bronco Ford Performance Calibration Tune review

Dumb question, but is the transmission tuning a part of the Procal tune file or is it a separate download?

I ask because I had the tune installed this summer and I swear I feel like the truck still really loves to quickly shift into second outside of Sport Mode or WOT.

Is this most people's experience, too?

It does but it will drop back into first if you mash the throttle, where before mine would load up the turbos and pull through the rev range. I installed the tune a couple weeks ago and haven't really had a chance to play with it too much but the shifts are definitely quicker and firmer, and the torque is very noticeable on the highway.

The ProCal is really to expensive in my opinion.
My brother, who owns a 2023 Badlands with the 2.7L engine, is at his dealership right now and is being charged $825 for the package, $800 in labor and 140 in sales tax.
$1,765 Seems a bit pricey to me for what you are getting In return.

I'll never understand why folks are paying a dealer to install these...especially $800! The tune is a marginal improvement - barely worth the cost of the Procal IMO.

My brother, who owns a 2023 Badlands with the 2.7L engine, is at his dealership right now and is being charged $825 for the package, $800 in labor and 140 in sales tax.
$1,765 Seems a bit pricey to me for what you are getting In return.

Pretty easy to find it much cheaper and have it installed much cheaper also

Hell, I got mine from Lethal Performance for $615 and installed it myself in about 25 minutes. Works like a charm.

When my brother told me that he wanted The Ford Performance Tune, I told him to buy it on line, maybe from Lethal Performance, but he was worried about the warrantee and didn’t want to chance doing it himself.
And living here on Long Island, with some of the highest property taxes in the country, everything is more expensive.
And, he’s old like me, wife is gone, kids are grown, sold his house, lives in a small apartment, has a great job, so I didn’t discourage him.
But, as for me, it’s not worth it.

So would this still be covered under Ford Warranty? I thought I needed to go to the dealer to have the tune covered? Thanks

Any idea why ford.com says the ProCal 4 is not compatible with the 2022 Ford Bronco now? I swear it was before. And I can no longer find it on Ford Accessories, but it was there a year or so ago….

Thank you. I spoke to a local dealership today who will do the install. They don’t care where I buy the tune as long as it matches their part number so this is super helpful to me. I will end up buying from Lethal! Their SKU is different than Ford’s BUT the part number Lethal listed does indeed match the Ford SKU.
