Or just use a slider that sticks out farther than your sheet metal, and thus serves as a step too (without the big sheet to catch piles of mud or snow) That's my plan....This is why you crawl with tube doors.

It should have the added benefit of protecting from doors in parking lots too if it sticks out farther than the sheet metal.
These are so money. I rode in a built jeep on 37s once with 4 inch lift. It had steps like these and they were awesome. Aren't they pretty expensive? I looked at the time and remember having a little sticker shock.
