When I was adjusting the settings on the 6 speaker system in my Outer Banks. I noticed that the rear speakers volume is really reduced. All the sound is coming from the front 4 speakers. Did Ford reduce the output to the rear speakers in order to balance the system? Has anyone else noticed this. I replaced the 4” speakers in the rear with 4” Kickers and the sound is much clearer with the kids and highs but still the overall output is extremely low.

Can't you adjust the balance between the front and rear with a front/rear fader control in the audio controls? I've never seen a car audio system where that wasn't the case. Naturally, the closer speakers will sound louder than those more distant. I usually set my fader for 1-2 clicks toward the rear speakers for that reason.

Yes. It was mentioned in the stereo upgrade thread. They couldn’t get the sub to sound right off the rear speaker feed. Had to run it off the 6.5” feed in the front kick panel because the rear power was too weak.

I am really surprised how little is making back there. I missed that feed about running from the 6.5” front speakers. Looks like there is going to need some changes.

Does it have speed sensitive output? So when come to a stop it isn’t blaring?

Maybe it's reduced so you can hear the sweet, sweet sound of that Ecoboost motor better? ;)

By the way, the problem is that the front speakers are completely different from the pod speakers, also, the windshield provides significant bounce of sound directly at the front passengers.

Upgrading the speakers made a massive difference in the performance of the system and I can actually appreciate the rear speakers now.
