So I called Ford customer support to see if I could determine my price protection for my day one, hour one reservation that I converted to a Raptor order. After nicely explaining my circumstances, day one, hour one and that I had my configuration set on February 26th but my dealer couldn’t get into the system on March 9th or the 10th and had business out of town the 11th through the 13th and ordered it from a 99’ed order on the 14th she said let’s see what your price protection is. She took my information and came back to tell me I’ve got a $250 credit. I started laughing and said yeah that’s my reservation deposit and the $$$ they gave me for taking away the Raptor sticker option I had checked.
Things went quickly downhill from there.
I did start to get an understanding of how price protection works. You go to your dealer and renegotiate your purchase agreement based on the 2023 pricing. Then when the unit comes in the protection credit is applied to the new 2023 agreement. In my case $250.
what an F’n joke. Ford couldn’t even entice us with any new features. Even the damn graphic package that I splurged for is exactly the same!
JOKE JOKE JOKE.
