Ford would be better off offering this on new builds as the Carbon Fiber Package and making it an $8k option. Otherwise, I don't see them selling the retrofit full kit of this stuff which will come in at $15k for all of it (which for those of us that paid original msrp, is 20% the cost of the vehicle). If I was going to pay that, Id strongly consider the APG kit.

I still think carbon fibre belongs on a sports car, not an off-road vehicle (IMO).

Yes and not used for pretty decoration, but used for a genuine structural application.

Yeah. I totally don’t get the application of CF decorative panels.

Carbonfauxber is actually the same material/ construction as blue poly tarps. That would be a far better material for decorative applications, at a fraction of the price.

With some exception, most of the carbon fiber offered from manuf’s is more cosmetic than function. Even on sports cars and especially as upsell options vs standard equipment. And this generally applies to the higher end models where they know the demographic can cough up the coin for the options. No different here. My GT3RS has carbon seats, hood, roof, mirrors, wing, brakes, suspension bits. And in the case of Porsche, this does translate to sprung and unsprung mass savings, but did I opt for that because of the weight savings? Sort of but my main drive is because it looks sick and resale. Reality is I’ll likely never realize the performance benefits on a street car. Same with my 5,000+ pound Range Rover that has factory carbon hood and mirrors. It just looks good to me. And it’s a profit margin play by the manufacturer.

Ford knows the demographic for the Raptor is very different than standard Bronco. And they’re not even making these carbon parts themselves from what I understand. Perhaps they’re testing the water to see if offering a factory carbon option would make sense. They offer a carbon interior kit after all.

As a side, if they’re going to offer carbon fender and hood vents, they should offer carbon mirror caps as well to tie it in. They’ll sell way more of those items than carbon fender flares IMO.

Nice. Good luck with the RS. I can’t ever seem to convince myself to sell anything. I have a Spyder RS arriving in June, and I’ve decided to push my 992 3RS allocation for the .2 car. I think the current car is very underpowered with all the extreme aero (driven it on street and track) and the .2 is getting a hybrid power boost like the upcoming 2RS will be out of the gate. More reason to not sell any of the ICE cars!

Just went to their site and there is no carbon fiber listed for the Bronco Raptor except the interior grab handles.

I would like someone to come up with plastic panels to replace my stock panels. No fiber glass or carbon fiber. Just something to not worry about trail damage. Scratch it replace it !!!

I'm not one to normally get sticker shock from things, but I was genuinely surprised at the cost of the vents and the flare kit. Half price for those items would still be too much in my book, and that's coming from a guy who bought the CF hard top and hood.
