Winter weather can create serious safety concerns for Ford Bronco drivers, especially when snow accumulates on LED headlights. Unlike traditional halogen bulbs, LED headlights produce minimal heat due to their energy-efficient design, making them unable to melt snow or ice. This can lead to reduced visibility, making it harder to see the road ahead or be seen by others in snowy or low-light conditions—significantly increasing the risk of accidents.

This seems like a solution looking for a problem. I've spent many years living and winter driving in Minnesota, New England and upstate New York / Adirondacks area. Quite a few memorable slogs driving thru winter snowfalls and lake-effect squalls in that time. Had lots of issues battling icing of windshields and wipers in various auto makes/models but not once did I ever experience a problem with keeping headlights clear. Is there a problem specific to the Bronco's headlamps that people are reporting?

Not Bronco specific...LED headlight specific, all makes. The LEDs don't generate enough heat to melt snow/ice build up. I have the same issue on my GM vehicles that have LEDs.

Do (or can) you offer whatever it would take to heat the stock lights w/o replacing them?

I can see your concern. But if you were already in the market to replace your headlights. A high performance headlight like the Oculus is a substantial investment. And, if you reside in an area that sees it fair share of winter activity, then an increase for the heated element might be worth it. OEM single replacement headlights are more expensive than the pair of the Oculus. Everyone has reasons for their purchase.

I really like the idea.... but I do have some concerns that will make me wait for a couple years of field testing..... I would be quick to jump if that lens were glass but I will put money on it being a polymer. The question then becomes what is the thermal and electrical conductivity of the polymer? (in case of the inevitable short, probably rare but it will happen) then is the polymer a thermo set or a thermo plastic? Thermo plastic is just going to melt the lens but a thermo set is potentially going up in flames.

I do like the idea.... It is addressing an issue that needs addressed.

Great question! We have been selling the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator versions of these with the same materials for several years. We found success with that product and the Bronco community showed a desire. These have been field test extensively.

Yes. Would make sense if I were in the market for new lights. I’m a first time Ford owner and it astounds me how much is being spent to outfit these broncos after having spent $40 to $90k to purchase the vehicle itself.

But that is the draw.... You can make the vehicle your own... Yours is different than any other one out there. How do you improve a vehicle? everyone has their own answers.... And back to topic... LED lights in snow storms are a serious problem. I am sure manufacturers are working on solutions but right now... It is the aftermarket that is providing those answers.

It is an adult game of Legos....

Eh…. I’d prefer to make it my own as much as possible at time of the build and price and avoid further obsession and cost. But who am I to talk? My 2023 non SAS BD is now fitted with Fabfours bumper, winch, tow hitch , separate off road and fog lights, air compressor, ford performance rear differential cover, roof rack and side steps, 35“ tires and ford performance coilovers. Thankfully all was done with about $4500 but my wife is still shaking her head.
