How are folks planning on protecting the inside of the rear tailgate? I thought about the fold down table but that still leaves a lot of painted surface to protect.

Wonder why no one has committed on this topic, seems like a legitimate concern.

I put a table on thinking it would protect it. Instead both the table and exposed tailgate around it are now marred. I may Line-x it next.

Things inside the cargo area sliding back and hitting/scratching/wearing through the interior painted surface of the tailgate.

I believe Underground Graphics has a PPF product for the lower portion of the tailgate interior.

Being a swing gate, it won't take the beating a tailgate would. I've already had a motorcycle back there, chainsaw, camping gear, and other stuff. Seems to be fine, but to be honest I haven't given it a second look. Figure it will fair well as compared to a true tailgate. I'd guess you should also be worried about the plastic trim back there too, as it will probably fair worse than painted metal.
