I am sure this has been said before, but with hot weather everywhere, do not open the hood on your Bronco if it has been sitting in the hot sun. The plastic piece between the hood and window expands and the hood will bend and pull out of clips in the middle. Then it will not clip back in place. Another cheap copout for Ford!

Can you clarify "hot weather"?

It's 28C/84F outside right now and I had my hood open to install my Curt trailer harness and had no issues.
92F in direct sun for 3 hours. Cannot open the hood, without someone pressing on the plastic in the middle.

I open my hood every day (I hang a light under the hood to keep the pack rats out), and itā€™s over 100Ā° every single day. I havenā€™t had any issues with thisā€¦

No issues here and it was 98 degrees the other day when I opened the hood.

I think you're the only one with this issue. Here in south Texas mine has been opened many times on the beach for short cool downs with no problems. And its 100+ degrees here.

This is true. This happened to me and I ended up having to pay about $400 dollars for Ford to replace the cowl piece in question.

I just finished a trail, popped open the hood and sure enough - the cowl got caught by the hood and completely crushed against the windshield. Since the cowl was hot when it happened, it kept its new shape. Only option was replacing the entire cowl piece which was back ordered, cheapest at time was like $250 for the part.

Will have to take it to the dealer to see if they will fix or replace. I guess it's better if this is an isolated issue.
It cost me $400 with labor.

Nope. I'm suddenly pissed off about that seeing as its happening quite frequently now. I think a conversation with my service manager is in order..
Definitely. I consider normal operation of the vehicle to include opening the hood. And if you can't do that without causing damage, I think that's a defect
