Was pulled over in Pennsylvania today for having the doors off. It’s technically illegal in our state, but it’s almost never the primary reason for the stop. He let me go with a warning. I’m most upset that this is a local officer for me, so taking the doors off is basically out of question for me moving forward. What a stupid law.

Personally, I’d buy the tube doors and tell them it was an option from Ford if you get stopped with those on.

I’m thinking about it, but I can see getting dinged for those by reading the above.

So does taking the whole top off count as "modified to the extent that there is no roof"?

Haha, he said “I love the truck and love the look of no doors”
Happens to me all the time when we move the bosses cars. They usually end up saying I just wanted to look at the car.

PA has a grey area law. Notice it says “as Original equipment”
But the manufacturer manual says the doors are removable for road use.
Sounds like its up to the cops and you can fight it in court and most throw it out because it’s typically small town cops looking for action

It says “unless the vehicle has been modified to the extent that there is no roof or side”. It doesn’t say that BOTH the roof and side have to be removed…I’d think that it should pass if you have the top removed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Take the roof off and it seems like you are in compliance.
