I have seen many threads that show that a 33 inch tire will fit on the base with factory base rims and no lift, I have 16x8 25mm offset wheels and want to run 285/75 16 tires on them (32.8 actual diameter).

My question is with the smaller offset (about less and inch compared to base rims) will the tires clear? I would assume worst case I would have to remove the crash bars.

Before I answer just to be sure: your offset is putting the tires a half inch more inward as compared to stock?

stock offset is 55 mm, I'm going to 25. That should push the centerline of the tire outward by just a hair less than 1 inch.

Ah, got it! I think you should be good. On stock rims with 33" tires, the closest point of almost contact for me is at the sway bar when turned full left/right. But with your offset, that should give you more clearance not less. As you note, the crash bars might be an issue (I don't think so but it will be close) but worst case that is an easy fix.

What specific wheels and tires are you going with?

PS: here is a video where I covered this topic if you have not already seen it

16x8 +25

Still up in the air on tires, probably BF Goodrich K02's

How do you like the Generals as far as ride and noise? May look into those too.
