I am in Moab now, have the rodeo tomorrow. Info says “Bring snacks and beverages”. It goes 9 am to 6 pm, do they provide lunch at all or is it just munchies you bring for yourself?

Austin off-roadeo had a good lunch and dinner. I’d expect they’d be the same

Have a good time! Yes, sandwiches, chips, cookies for lunch on the trail. Dinner when you return to base camp.

Yes, they carry a water container and you can refill your Bronco Yeti they give out. Worked well for us in Moab. They also had snacks available and walked around during the trip to ask if you want anything. So much fun. Have a blast. The lunch spot they stop at has an amazing view!

New Hampshire offered a box lunch and a very nice buffet dinner. So that seems to be their policy.
If you're new to off-roading, and have your Bronco (you'll use theirs), you're in the Mecca of North American off-road wheeling. There's lots to take advantage of--so do it!

Look for (or order, time permitting) Charles Wells & Matt Peterson's Moab, UT: Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails. There's nothing like it! Be sure to read their general instructions and how-to pages, even if you've done some off-roading. It's invaluable.
If you're new, and have your Bronco and a day or two, consider Hurrah Pass for starters, which leads to Jackson Hole (if open) and Chicken Corners. Jackson Hole takes you down close to the Colorado, while Chicken Corners goes high for the view. Consider that the "lab practical" to "Off-Roadeo 101." The three trails would make for a pretty full day, be sure to bring enough food, water, extra fuel. And you are buying your recovery gear, right?

Instead of turning West on the chicken corners trail, you go South and in less than 45 miles you are in the Needles district of Canyonlands. Beautiful views and not a rough trail, except for the first climb up the wash. Love that trail.

Thanks for all the info and recommendations!

We have the rodeo today (Saturday) and head for home Tuesday morning. I drove my stock OBX down, planning to spend Sun and Mon hitting the parks and “beginner” trails.

Don’t have any recovery gear yet so won’t be attempting anything scary.

Pics to follow!
