I think this is only of use if you are adding a sub... someone can correct me if I'm wrong there.

If you are adding a sub, I think its a must-have. This controller came with my wiring harness from PlugNPlay kits. I figured what the heck and installed it as it is easy to do at the same time you are running wiring for a sub to rear of the vehicle. I use it quite a bit - i need different bass level for XM radio vs. streaming Spotify vs. regular radio, and even need different level from one XM station to another. If you are wiring for a sub, I say go for it.

If you’re running the key 500.1 then yes. Very handy to have and I’ve installed the bass knob on the last couple installs I’ve done. I wouldn’t go without it now!

My head unit controls my subs so it's not necessary but if you like instant access to control it, it's nice. I have to go into the controls and go through the screens in order to control bass so it can be useful to keep it separate.

BTW, Kicker Key is awesome... will blow away the stock and the B&O system once you hear it.

So, I read everything about b&o upgrades and such, then did the 5 speakers. Without an amp upgrade. I have to say I am super pleased with the sound after replacing the 4inch all around. I also did it in around 1.5 hrs in my driveway. I found it relatively easy to do. You might consider doing the before installing amps

Thanks guys-I’m replacing all the speakers and getting the B&O sub enclosure (replacing the speaker it it with a low profile kicker sub), so I’ll add this to the list of stuff I need.
