I've never had one, so I appreciate the heads-up. My town gets a lot of snow + rain; if it was all converted to rain we meet the definition of 'rain forest'. I'd actually prefer a gloss-finish tan hard top; I don't expect that to be available right away, so I am thinking of a soft-top-bridge.
His hard top is a flat tan and it is less, but still a challenge to keep looking good (of course it is flat tan painted on a plastic top 20 years old).

Classic looking gloss white would be my choice.

But if you order dual top (i.e., both a hard and a soft top), or if you order a soft top later, get a black soft top.

Tan tops always make me think of the old Eddie Bauer edition Bronco's.... They should bring that trim back, screw this Platinum crap.
QUOTED FOR TRUTH!

I will tell you from experience (son’s Green and Tan Sahara TJ), a tan soft top shows mildew and dirt a lot. You have to clean it often with boat vinyl mildew cleaner or it doesn’t look tan.
Absolutely it does.
I had a tan soft top on my YJ, currently have a tan soft top on my Cobra. Both were a PITA to keep clean.
I love the look of tan and green, red, blue. I'd be 100% on board with rocking it myself.
I've learned a lot of detailing tricks and new products have made a huge difference since my YJ years.
And the tan top on the Cobra was already black spotted when I bought it. I've used no less than 5 different miracle cleaning products and it only looks marginally better.
If I got a tan top on a red one (which I'm not), I'd definitely keep it dressed with 303 protectant after washes.
FWIW, Good call, @Carolina Jim. I personally love the contrast.

Mine is getting a tan top, no matter what.

Painted my TJ hardtop textured sandstone outside and in, and will do the same with the Bronco.

Yes. IT is a great look. The soft top fabric is notoriously hard to keep a nice shade of tan if you neglect it even once.

And FWIW, I could use some backup in all these "can I paint my top" threads....
If you did it, you know it's entirely possible and not that hard.
The MIC is a bit different
Same horse, different breed, pun unintentional.

The thought of doing this makes me second guess ordering the sound-deadening headliner from the factory.

I can't hardly see the word 'CHROME' without thinking of that famous movie quote
So shiny, so chrome. Witness the new Bronco, definitely not mediocre. :)
