I just received my mirror tap, but without access to a multimeter not sure how to plug it in. Would you mind showing me what terminals you tapped into to power your radar detector. Please and thank you

I'd love to bring my radar detector into my (upcoming) Bronco, but I'm worried about how much easier it will be to steal. I haven't looked yet, but I'm wondering if there's a more secure detector, like a grill mount or something?

I just unclip mine and store it in the console. I have a Passport Max 360 that I rotate through my cars. I have a mount in every car that mounts to the mirror. It’s held on with magnets.

I had a V1 in a BMW convertible for years. When I parked I would put the windows up or top up depending on the neighborhood. If it was bad enough I’d unclip and stow it. I think a permanent mount makes it like you can just unclip it so that helps too.

It's not out yet, but Uniden is coming out with an R9 remote mount version of the R7. I've been waiting for Radenso Theia for a couple of years, but might go with an R9 so I can leave it in with the top off.

Radenso Thiea is a pipe dream. Don’t trust them on this project. Valentin, Uniden, Passport have real options.

Are radar detectors even a thing anymore, along with pagers? Doesn’t wazes provide the info needed?
Waze is good to use with Radar Detectors. Police move around. They can shoot radar while driving, Waze won’t help with that.

The best defense is to use both. They each have there weakness but having both offsets the other. Waze's biggest problem is that it is based 100% on user input. If no one marks the police then how would you know they are there. What if you were the first he setup on? What if he is actually driving down the road. I actually think radar detectors are even more useful now then they were 20 years ago. Tech is better and cops now mostly use just a few key frequencies, thus a good detector filters out all the crap. Now, if you get a hit (and know what it means) you pretty much know you are getting or about to get hit. But nothing is full proof. Just reduces the chance when you aren't paying attention, etc. etc.

V1 also has a remote display if I recall correctly. Hide detector, place display where you mant.
