Railroad Strike shutting down deliveries?

I haven't seen this posted so..........I called my dealer in Folsom, CA to talk about getting a Maverick for my daughter and she told me the dealership has been getting emails from Ford about the railroad workers striking and basically all deliveries of vehicles stopping. I did a little poking around and found some articles, so it does seem like a possibility. Anyone else run into this?

The railroad is having trouble delivering anything. I have a client with multiple sites that can’t get coal, corn cars or empties to fill with finished Goods. There is almost zero weekend movement of rail for them.

Agreed, deliveries have been bad, but if they strike I would imagine nobody will be getting their Broncos at all.

I think I would fly out, take delivery from MAP and drive it home at this point.

Lol, kinda seems like that. My daughter doesn't start driving for 6 months so I have some time to plan but people thinking they are getting Broncos/Raptors soon might have an issue unless a union deal is made. I would think trucking would continue so that might boost up people with that delivery distance.

Mine has been at its destination, “placed at industry in Dixiana, SC” since the July 10th and the status hasn’t changed. Im wondering why mine is still stuck on a rail car

I still don't understand whey @Ford Motor Company doesn't offer the option to pick up at the factory. I know they might have to hire a few folks, but it can be done and i think the take rate would be higher than they think. BMW offers it in Spartanburg, SC and several brands still offer factory pickup in Europe. I think that it would be a really popular option with all of the shipping logistical nightmares going on now. I'd gladly fly up this weekend and retrieve my Bronco (that's been sitting completed, "awaiting shipment" for over a month)!

I would hope this doesn’t affect straight convoy deliveries.
