Anyone using the Ram Rail mount? Was considering it to mount my GoPro, phone and Garmin Tread Overland.

I got the Archetype Racing one and it's great. I use it mostly for a GoPro. I had my phone mounted as well, but it was just too much in the way. I have a Garmin Overland as well, and it was too big for the dash IMO. I ended up getting the Archetype grab handle and a Ram Mount and that's where it rides.

I have the D also, but I think he’s looking for the rail that goes on the dash. I have the one from AR and couldn’t be happier. It looks stock and I’ve mounted cameras to it for road trip Timelapses

Yep, this one,

With the 2" ball and arm I'm thinking it would be at a comfortable level.

Though I am wondering how they got the hero switches reversed..............

Personally I think the AR version looks way better but it's your preference!

I like how the Ram rail uses the vents for support without drilling etc. I called Ram engineering and asked about a 2+# Overland GPS and they tested it with 5# suspended 90 degrees without issue. Function over Form and what, 1/5 the cost.

You have the 8"? What length arm did you use or did you stick with the OEM Garmin and 2" ball size or go down to 1"? Would like to see a picture of it mounted.

I have the Ram Rail Mount, and it works great even holding my ipad pro in place. I was the one that got Ram to develop this Rail, and make it stronger than the rest, without any drilling. You won't be disappointed with this Rail. Don't have any pics at the moment, but will be doing a complete coverage video and pics soon. I also have the bracket that mounts to the front of the passenger seat that I mount my laptop too. With both, I have multiple screens, and passenger can still sit in comfort. If you have ever done any Rallying, you would know that more information is critical in that situation.

1” ball and 6” arm.

6” arm and 1” ball. Trying to upload some pics but the files are too big. 😡 I’ll figure it out and get some pics on here.

Thanks for the photo. The Garmin weighs twice as much as the iPad so I'm not sure a 1" would work but I do like that arm.....a lot more articulated than the standard.

It’s pretty solid. It holds my Garmin perfectly. I used the 1” ball because it fit the grab handle threads.

Okay, thank you for the info.

Doesn't Ram have a C size ball with 1/4-20 stud? Just thinking out loud here, the base diameter may be too big for the "D" handle.
