I got a loaner Ranger last year for a few weeks while the engine in my Mustang was being replaced.. I really enjoyed it, and contemplated buying one after driving this for a few weeks.... I'm glad I held off, because I wouldn't be in a position to buy the Bronco if I had bought a Ranger just last year... and it's good to know that the Bronco has some similar characteristics as the Ranger - it was plenty quick for a mid-sized truck and rode really nicely ... makes me even more excited for the Bronco

Take my money. That stuff is beautiful. Prefer a 92 4.0 5spd.
I had a 96 4.0 5 speed extended cab for a while back around '98-'03 ... loved that truck!!

I just watched a reveal on TFL Trucks for the Ranger Tremor. The pricing is about $4200. I didn’t see all the details, but it sounds similar to the SQ package, less the front axle upgrade and front locker, but adding the Fox podium 2.0 shocks. Seems like the SQ package is pretty well priced in comparison. This does create some internal competition for the Bronco, adding a competitive package to the Toyota TRD Pro and GM midsized equivalents in the midsized truck market too. The Tremor maintains is 7500lb. tow and already considerable Ranger payload rating as well. Does that make anyone consider the Ranger more seriously? I know it does for me.
Yes....just because I want another camper and that'll give me plenty of tow room. But, I want open air to replace the lack of a motorcycle, plus I've been waiting since 1996. Bronco wins!!!!!!

Now that being said, I wife likes Bronco she take it when her car needs replaced and then I'll get a Ranger Tremor!!! Double win.

I don't have pics available right now, but my dad had a Ranger longbed that he had a fab shop cut the roof like the yellow one and made it re-attachable! His was just plain white with a red fabric interior.

Not for me but I can see where some would like it. I am not a fan of leaf springs but for towing it’s the way to go.

I don't see the Bronco and Ranger being competitors. Different segments in my opinion.
And yes, the Ranger fold down rear seat is pathetic.
I just don't see how adding some shocks and slightly bigger tires changes the truck from an overlander non-competitor to competitor. I put a leveling kit ($100) and 32's ($900) and haven't found a place that the Pro/Bison/Gladiator can go that I can't. Even fully stock it's a stout 4x4 and will go anywhere 99% of the owners want to go.
look at the facts when comparing these vehicles and I have a hard time choosing which one would be best - really it would be personal preference. Though the Gladiator Mojave would be a better comparison than the Rubicon.

I will likely spend the next year going back and forth between the Ranger and the Bronco. No, they aren't direct competitors, but for me it's a battle between practicality and a cool toy. Many members here already have a truck and/or a more utilitarian vehicle. I don't. So I either go with the super cool really fun but impractical Bronco, or I get a truck that has far more practicality and would still be pretty decent off-road. Most of my off-roading is trail/mud/ruts which the Ranger would be just fine with. I also like the Ranger over its direct competitors (Colorado/Gladiator/Tacoma) because it beats the crap out of all of those for power/torque/towing and MPG.

If I decide on the Ranger, then the question becomes do I wait for the next gen or get a screaming deal on the out-going body style. ><

But if you bought a current-gen Ranger wouldn't you be worried about being jealous when the next gen rolls out soon or when you see a Bronco on the road in a year or the Bronco pickup announced?

I assume current-gen Rangers can be had today for a decent deal, but they are fairly dated and about to look really dated when the next batch of Ford vehicles start appearing on roads...

This right here for those who missed it..... the 2021 Ranger Tremor is on the CURRENT Ranger Platform (Not the platform that the 2021 Bronco is on).

For that alone, nope, I'll wait for the next Ranger that on "basically" the same platform as the 2021 Bronco.

I'm not excited about the tremor, but I am excited about the 2022 ranger 2.3 with the electric motor offering in 2022. More hp and more torque. The 2.0 with the electric motor in my wrangler makes 35s feel like nothing. Overall much better driving experience than the ranger with the 2.3 and 31s. If they really are at 360hp and 500 ftlb torque it should make for a great daily driver.

Also I think the .8 is ground clearance so .5 is made up by the 32" tires so only adding .3" via upgraded shocks. I can get .5" inch spacer for 25 bucks. I already have a 1" spacer on my wheels. I'll get some 32s...I'll buy some stickers....I'm almost at a tremor with my fx4.

I really want a bronco but trucks are practical and the 2022 is a consideration for me.

I am still warming to the Hybrid idea. I like the all electric, due to the way simpler drive train. Hybrids, in my mind, add the complication of both systems, obviously trading complication for unlimited range. My current plan is Bronco 2021, potentially Mach E to replace our current Explorer maybe 2023 or 24? All sorts of flavors to consider ?

I'm probably going to do 2-year lease on a 2021 Tremor and then upgrade to a next gen Ranger with the 2.7. I need a truck now-ish but I know I'll want the next gen when it comes out; hence the lease.

I keep going back and fourth on this right now myself.
-For ~44k you can likely get a XLT Ranger Tremor (4dr+bed)
-For ~42k you can get a BD Bronco 2dr w/v6
One is better rock crawl, but the other is bigger for more room and likely a better DD...

Tell me the Bronco is the better long-term choice (plus IT will fit in my garage)
