Ready for a change - plan to swap out my Rubicon for a Ranger or Bronco. At MSRP this would be an easy decision for me - save the roughly 35K and go with Ranger Raptor. However things get very interesting with the current Rebates/Discounts on the Bronco. Got a couple quotes - 58K plus TTL for Ranger. 72k plus TTL for the Bronco (using Z plan for Bronco - Z not available on Ranger). Forum thoughts? Thanks for the opinions!

Not a Raptor owner of any kind. I’ve sat for about five minutes in both of the vehicles you’re looking at. Both are very nice. One is a pickup and one is a four door removable top suv, a platform you are familiar with. The Ranger is more modern and probably doesn’t have the pain points associated with Bronco (removable top suv, indexing windows, etc.) none of which really bother me. If Bronco didn’t exist, the Ranger Raptor would be on order or in my garage, but it does, and I’m just here for the Broncos. I personally like the standard Bronco because of track width and fitting it in narrower places, and you might be happy with a new Badlands?Find a dealership with both. Test drive both. Make decision.

After someone totaled my first Bronco I almost bought a Colorado Bison. Sweet truck and unlike the Ranger pricing, I was able to find several dealers that would sell at invoice. The Ranger is a great truck, but is it full MSRP great?

I put off my decision until taking part in the Tennessee Off-Roadeo, after which I snagged another Bronco due to its demonstrated capabilities, familiarity, and accessories rescued from my old unit.

Then again, I never would have purchased a Bronco had my JL Rubicon not spanked me with a big dose of death wobble.

If the extra money doesn't give you pause, go with the Bronco Raptor. You'll be able to crawl up and over most ledges without getting high centered. If you don't do much wheeling, go with the Ranger. The pickup will have more utility around town, and will still get you down some easy trails without much drama.

Well my opinion since I have owned pickups and the Bronco. Ranger is better bang for the buck. However carrying home groceries in a pick up sucks. Especially if back seat is occupied. Groceries in a pickup bed don’t do well in warm weather. Bronco is better for stuff and people except for the useless console. Really comes down to how you use it. Roof on the Bronco as you know comes off. Not the biggest Bronco Raptor appearance fan. But being a Bronco I would get it based on appearance.

Too much of an apples to oranges question IMO. One is a mid pickup with added power/offroad capability, the other is an SUV, convertible, multi-use whose ancestor lies in jeep (as in OG) heritage.

I think you should decide which kind of vehicle you really want. If that really is a toss-up, then it's back to price because both are equivalent from the distance where their differences are more or less comparable...

Considering you'll likely be keeping it for years the $$$ difference matters little as long as you're not going into debt. It's more important to have the vehicle that best fits your needs and wants.

We love our Ranger Raptor!!! it's a perfect ALL around offroader. We love the value, and the interior is almost porsche quality...the on-road manners beats the other two Raptors, And with the FPtune it's the quickest of the 3, (or w/o tune)....not including the predator powered R. 455hp in a mid sized truck is truly FANTASTIC.

The ONLY thing that I would consider making it any better is if Ford offers it in a two-door version.

No offense to bronco raptor owners, I just can't get over the looks. It's to damn big and wide. I was next to a ranger raptor yesterday in traffic and it had a perfect stance, look and just looked awesome.

Looks wise ranger wins there.

Price wise ranger wins

Guess it comes down to do you want a truck or removable doors and roof beast

While not a fan of the Bronco fenders, the Ranger just looks entirely homely, it really ashamed they couldn't have made a better looking compact, because the rest of the package seems legit.

We have both a Ranger Raptor and a Bronco Wildtrak. Love them both about the same, bad ass vehicles. Bronco Raptor is in. In no way shape or form is it worth the extra $35,000. To boot it has the same exact engine as the Ranger Raptor. Wildtrak 2.7 is plenty powered with 35”’’s as stock.

Yes, but the whole point is that Bronco Raptors are selling for $20K+ off MSRP right now. So they are not $35K more...
