With all the bad MIC news that seems to continuously flow, here is some good news.

I drove my 2 door MIC top through a torrential downpour with strong winds. Journey lasted about an hour.

Upon return home, I did a very intense and detailed check for leakage. I am happy to report it was as dry as a bone.

I know many are having leakage problems. It seems to be a QC problem. You may or may not get lucky with a “good “ top. It is unacceptable for sure.
Good catch, you were dancing close to the fanboy line there for a second. 😂

Just passed 1000 miles on mine, rain/shine/wind with no squeaks, rattles, pops, clicks, leaks, or de-lamination. I have two small patches of "snakeskin" pattern but I could not care less.

Mine is good to go so far. I have been in constant rain up here in the PNW and no drips, no runs, no errors. One small area on the inside passenger back window has very slight honeycomb effect. Don't care.

I'm really debating bringing mine through a touchless car wash, just slightly nervous.

Similar story here. Drove through rain and I washed it for the first time this weekend. No leaking anywhere I could find. Top has held up well so far, but I do have snakeskin in a couple of spots. Hoping that’s the worst of my worries!

I wonder if it’s worth biting the bullet and getting the MIC painted right away to cover the snakeskin and also possibly lengthen it’s durability against the elements into the future. I’ve seen photos of MIC’s being painted after purchase and they look really good.

Good to hear.
Because of this forum I checked my MIC 2 door for the rough or delaminating edges.
Mine appear to be OK for now.

Those touchless car washes are where good paint goes to die.
Explain how high pressure water is going to hurt my paint? It's touchless for a reason.

Soap and a good rag lift debris from paint. Personally, I’m extra cautious because of the dark paint and it sees heavy dirt before each wash.

This is exactly opposite of the local detailers, including the guys that do the high end paint correction and ceramic have told me.

6 months out of the year it is not possible to hand wash a vehicle here, touchless washes are the only way to safely clean your vehicle. I used them exclusively with all my other vehicles and have zero issues. The worst is watching a hockey mom in a brand new Escalade use the tire brush on her paint...talk about cringe.
