So far the best solution for this incredibly serious issue has been addressed in this video:

My kids like the hydroflasks and take them everywhere. 5.11 makes an H20 holder that is molle compatible. It works great on the Bandlands back seats

I am planning on doing this too, but was looking at the Maxpedition version, technically it's a dump pouch, but the small version will hold a bottle like that, but it can fold up when not in use. I like 5.11 stuff, so I'll check those out too!

Looks like the Maxpedition will work too but looks like a single molle strap. The Max is $10, cheaper. The 5.11 ones are $30 each but attach with two straps

Single strap should be fine for this application, I would think. I liked that they fold up when not in use for when I have adults in the back seat and not just my kids/car seats.

So I tried to undo those bronco bolts on the back of the seats to take off the MOLLE grate for easier installation.

What the heck?

Anybody else?
