My (probably unwarranted) concern would be deforming the top by supporting it this way. Maybe add some sort of spacer/spreader across the bottom to counter the inward focused stresses that are being induced by your rigging.Installed a rope hoist for the rear top. Once rigged up I put a “Taylor” luggage scale on it to measure the weight. I got 69.4 lbs. I rigged up 2 double pulleys and it takes about 17lbs to lift the top.
I used 10’ straps and I have a 10’ ceiling. For my rig 9’ (possibly 8’) straps would have worked better. I almost run out of lift. I put a boat cleat on the back wall to lock it in place off the ground and have a lag bolt going into a truss on the ceiling. It only takes one person to remove the top.
Once the new MIC top gets here I weigh that one as well.
