I cant tell from pics, mostly because of the window tint, but I'm curious about the visibility of the cross bar thru the rear window (MIC obviously). The 4-door has a cutout right about there, but from pics I've seen I don't think the 2-door does.

First, I want to mount a camera IN the plastics for the cross bar (see image) and have the camera able to see out the rear window without aiming it down. I know I could just mount it under the bar, but I'm hoping to be clever and hide it a bit, plus keep it from getting bumped when loading/unloading things. Also, then I get to make a plastic insert to dress it up, I like doing that.

Secondly, has anyone taken that plastic off and could post a pic of whats going on inside? Maybe theres just no room inside and this dream ends there.

I haven’t removed mine however, it’s a pretty close fit and I doubt there is room for a camera mount.

Its also relatively close to the rear of the hardtop and the hard comes down at the rear which may block the camera mounted that high. I could get some measurements for you later today.

Pretty sure thats not going to work
the roll bar would be too high for good view angle

side mount on the speaker maybe or lower at the body line

What specifically are you looking for? My 2 door is in the driveway, I'd be happy to take whatever pics you'd like.

I just checked mine, the bottom of the roll bar is somewhat flush with the top of rear window

Picture? So what under the plastic right there it sounds like it would work for dash camera.

Ok, I was able to pull down the plastic cover and there is an area in the center that is 2“ 1/4 deep and 5” wide that you may be able to work with.

Wow thanks for all the quick feedback!

That does look like it would be a little high to see out without an angle, but also maybe a little angle is ok depnding on the camera lens/FOV. I think it's a solid maybe right now which still gives me hope.

Thanks again everyone!
