I tested out the rear seat AC in 4 door at a dealer today, and I couldn't seem to get cold air out of the rear floor vents (under the passenger seats) consistently. The right side air vent came on at one point, but in a couple of minutes of fiddling with the controls couldn't figure out the voodoo required to make it work again after switching between modes. I was never able to get any air to blow out of the floor air vent for the left side -- maybe there isn't one?

I'll be carrying kids in the back seat regularly, and I'm wondering if those of you in a similar situation are finding that the rear HVAC is proving adequate in hot (and, for that matter, cold) temps?

I found in my Bronco that one of the rear floor vents was partially covered up (I think by the floor liner or mat), so might be worth checking that too.

Outside that, not sure. I rarely have anyone in the back seat, other than my dog. But the AC blows good and cold up front, so I'm sure with the middle vents pointed back it's probably fine.

The cabin cools down fairly quick, especially with good tint, but those tunes pop out all the time

Those vents are worthless forget about them for AC. Has to be set to the foot setting. Your not gonna get any air moving in the back, just have to rely on cabin cooling down which takes too long in the heat around here. Remote start is your friend.

The floor vents in the back works for heat but not for cooling.

But the front dash vents are awesome so just put on Max AC and thecabin will cool down. They just won’t feel cool air blowing on them.

another conehead design oversight by Ford that I don’t understand.

They are terrible, just like in the F-150.

Under seat vents are worthless! Only way to cool the vehicle is blast the a/c from the front vents.
