I got to see a couple of broncos close up at an event yesterday ......

Ford Bronco Rear view IMG-7541

As you can see the rear view mirror is practically useless when the soft top i s pulled back ..... can't be much better with the hard top on and the headrests up, besides, if i'm going on a trip the back will be filled up to the roof line any way. So, I'm DEFINITELY installing something like this in 4k:

now the question is where to mount the rear camera? I was going to try mounting it on top of the rear center brake light but as you can see the spare will block the down angle!

The other option would be the top of the existing rear camera with a disconnecting harness:

But the best way would be to tap the 4K mirror into the existing rear view camera .... is that possible without screwing up the back up camera view on the center display?? I'm worried about the wiring to the Reverse Gear if I tap into that camera!

Any ideas? Any comments??

Useless for avoiding backing over children possibly(that’s what the camera is for), but fine for seeing cars.

I'm not disabling the rear view camera thats connected to the touch screen on the Bronco .... I just want to see the cars behind me in traffic

Or just do like truck drivers do: use the side mirrors. 🚛

I dont have those skills .... a lifetime of using the center rear view mirror, along with the side mirrors

Really don’t need a rear view mirror, though. You can see everything you need to using the side mirrors. I’m not one to tell somebody how to spend their dough. But it isn’t a necessity.

Just use your sideview mirrors, and set your screen to the stock rearview camera. Problem solved. 😎

The mirror cam you are showing is 4k front and 2k rear. I guess you could mount it near on top of the backup light or just replace the backup camera with it. Why have both?. I agree with others though that say use the side mirrors, but to each their own.

Put a sock over your rearview mirror to get used to not using it. The mirror, that is.
