Given that this is a federal requirement Ford certainly should have complied with this, but it’s a stupid standard. FMVSS208, S7.4.4 defines seatbelt access requirements for the 50th percentile male driver and refers to FMVSS208 S10.4 for how to measure it. The first thing you do is adjust the seat to the furthest forward position. A 50th percentile male is about 5’9”. He is going to have a tough time driving that far forward.

If you can’t drive in that position, why would you put your seatbelt on there?

Imo not a ford problem. A government over reach problem. I’ll call out ford for engineering and manufacturing problems, but this to delay production is ridiculous.

I wish there was a way I could opt out of certain recalls... I have 5 recall notices on my fridge and not a single one of them are anything I am even remotely concerned about.

This one might take the cake, though. The seat belt might be inconvenient to put on, so people might not bother? Sounds like a self-solving problem to me.
You know as a culture and society when do we just allow people who play stupid games to win stupid prizes.

The one I have my name on has a blend date of 05/16 and is supposedly unaffected by this seatbelt recall according to that safercar.gov website and yet its still sitting at the factory. Maybe theres a yet to be announced recall on the floormats or seatback pocket holding mine up.
No it's the blinker fluid reservoir apparently.

I generally don't say much on these, but this has to go down as one of the dumbest stop sales of all time. I have zero issues getting on my seatbelt, and the fact that the part isn't even defective is even more asinine. Because it "might be hard to put on a seatbelt" we are shutting down deliveries??? I really feel sorry for everyone still waiting.
Kinda like lawn mowers saying don’t stick hands under while running or a front toward enemy situation because some certain individuals will sue.

Ford has had knowledge of this issue for awhile now, and submitted paperwork to the NHTSA notifying the agency that they were going to recall back in mid-May. Which means Ford has been working on this since at least April, probably much earlier than that.

I'd be willing to bet that new vehicles off the assembly line have a pretensioner with a modified seatbelt strap that resolves this issue. For everyone else... they are getting a clip that brings the existing seat belts into compliance.

---

Just so everyone knows what we're talking about here...

The part labeled "B" is what they're adding. That's it.

And yes, federal law says you can't get your Bronco until it's installed. Good times. (y)

Amazon has them for $7 with an American flag too. Maybe ford wants special ones with the bronco logo

Through May 9th 2023. Everything built after May 9th is good. Everything scheduled is good.
I wonder if this is why mines was delayed for so long. My built date is 6/27 mines is set for delivery on 7/24

I haven’t had any issues with my 2dr. Maybe they will recall those eventually too, but this is for 4dr only.
WOW another reason to steer away from buying a more door!!! who coulda guessed 🤔 ...
some Karen whined too much? or maybe a disgruntled Ford worker bitched? Or the insider jeep spies work at play?

comedy aside, I do wish the seat belt height on B pillar was adjustable like most other vehicles.

I've never noticed this, but I am 6'1".

Is this only an issue with vertically challenged people and the seat is in a forward position?

I actually know a person who did exactly that and had all 4 of his fingers chopped off, the hospital was able to reattach them but he never had full use of that hand again. He wasn't the brightest kid in school either.

That’s what the recall says but that isn’t logical. How can they sell any Broncos if they don’t have a resolution for this? I have a feeling this recall will extend to all Broncos until they can come up with a fix.
The date of the dealer notice is July 5th. One would think that if those built after May 9th were also affected that the notice would have included the later build dates. I guess we’ll find out soon if more recent build dates start to get held up at the dealers.

This is a recall i care zero about, lol

Id be bullshit though if i was waiting while it was on the dealer lot just because of a seat belt latch placement.

You can opt out of any recall you want, once it has been delivered. Just tell your dealership you don’t want it completed.
It's never worked in the past, Ford just sends endless "reminders" of uncompleted recalls.
