I am in this hold status. Original order in 2020, reordered multiple times. Order confirmed 21 January, built 14 April, held for unknown reason until shipment on 25 June. Delivered to dealer 05 July and told I cannot buy it until Q4. I called several people at the dealership and ford to confirm this was real because it was to ridiculous to believe

The real problem is the vehicle does not comply with an FMVSS. They are legally not allowed to sell a vehicle that does not comply. If they were to look the other way and someone gets hurt or killed while not wearing a seatbelt, Ford will loose an insane amount of money on subsequent lawsuits. In court they could say the seatbelt did not comply with the FMVSS, and by the way, it was too difficult for me to put it on.
I used to design steering and crash safety systems for several OEMs. By the FMVSS we were required to crash test at mid steering wheel height adjustment. If you ever wondered why steering wheels can adjust so low, that is why. We did not expect anyone to use it, but we could crash test at a lower steering wheel height, which gives better results.

Ford screwed up the design, but their hands are tied now

Ok - backing off the politics a bit knowing that the posters on here skew more conservative. Nothing wrong with that btw. My bronco was delivered to the dealer last week and falls under the recall. The dealer confirmed they will be holding the vehicle until the fix in Q4.

Sorry to hear. I don't suppose they could give you any indication as to Q4 being early like Oct or end of the year?

My was affected by the recall. I was notified through Ford Pass the other day. I reached out to the dealer on Saturday to confirm. Have not heard back yet. This morning I received the email from Ford that my Bronco has shipped.

I guess this makes sense, my kids will sometimes have an issue buckling up in the backseat of the Bronco. I just assumed it was my kids being kids and complaining about something. But it never was an issue in the Expedition nor the other cars. 🤷‍♂️
I see it now. Just the back seat. A couple times driving with buddies back there and one or another said he couldn't buckle up.

I generally don't say much on these, but this has to go down as one of the dumbest stop sales of all time. I have zero issues getting on my seatbelt, and the fact that the part isn't even defective is even more asinine. Because it "might be hard to put on a seatbelt" we are shutting down deliveries??? I really feel sorry for everyone still waiting.
Thanks,1,087 days since I pre ordered and gets to the lot this week and now this

I'm a 7-17-20 reservation holder. Been on this f'ing Ford roller coaster ride for three years. My BL SAS/2.7/MIC/LUX just arrived at Granger. Finance rate is locked in for 30 days. I've been milking my Rubicon along just waiting for this Bronco to show up. It now has 196K miles and it costs more to keep it running then I could possibly spend on the Bronco. It gets used hard, just like the Bronco will, but damn .... JEEP - Just Empty Every Pocket.

Weird thing is my Bronco went into production on April 11 but didn't get built until May 31. Clearly some part was missing and it sat at MAP for a month and a half. Why didn't they put the seat belt part in before sending it to Granger? It was delivered to Granger last week. I was just notified by Granger that they cannot allow me to take the Bronco because it's on the recall list.

I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THIS. I've never experienced more frustration in buying a truck. Ever. But I've never owed a Ford either.
I am in almost the exact same boat as you with your build, build dates, ship dates, dealership and the lack of being able to comprehend how NOW our vehicles have to sit outside for another 3-6 months for a seatbelt clip! This is like a bad joke...

This is just a distributed form of dirt mountain and ice mountain that's easier for Ford to hide. Each dealer around the country is going to have a mini pile of Broncos laying around to get mistreated by who knows what. It really isn't good for a vehicle to just sit and not run for months on end. Not to forget the temptation for every lot hand to borrow a Bronco for the weekend to run at at the local dirt rodeo. The lack of convenient sure-fire seat belt access won't stop anyone else but the rightful vehicle owners.

Through May 9th 2023. Everything built after May 9th is good. Everything scheduled is good.
I wish that was so as our Bronco was built on June 20,2023 just put VIN in and hoped it was not recalled BUT it is. Sitting at dealership in a locked lot now waiting for Q4 to happen. What a disappointing and frustrating thing to happen. We have been so patient for our Bronco to come in and now we will have to wait longer. I hope Ford gives us incentives for the extended wait now, NOT going to happen for sure......

What matters more is the blend date rather than the date they rolled it over into a built status. This is what drives the VIN, and likely determined when the seatbelts were installed. Mine was bult and modules populated on April 26th, but didn't get updated to "built" until 2 weeks ago.

Keep in mind, dealers are as clueless as we are and are just parroting the memos and news stories. Every customer that pressures Ford directly can have an impact on their prioritization of this issue.
