Replacing the current shocks with the same shocks - Garbage In; Garbage Out.

With the Stop Sale on any Badlands or Sasquatch optioned model and the parts not being available until 3rd quarter, dealers have to be pumped selling stripper Big Bend and OBXs.
Sort of like reading these forums...

If anyone has already replaced their rear shocks, but would like to take advantage of a brand new set of updated 2025 versions from Ford, just let me know. No Low Ball Offers, I know what I got.

"Recalls" doesn't exist under the Service area on my app.

I'm in the same boat. I don't know if other people have different versions of the app, but mine is like yours. No recall tab anywhere in my app.

I didn't get a notice in the mail yet. I live in FL, no road salt and I have very low miles 13K on my 22 so will get it done at the next service visit- if they have the shocks, that is.........
Was gonna replace them at some point with the 6100's but this may delay that now.
Check your app. Mine shows i am included. But ya they will mail you when you can make an appointment for the new shocks.

First it was the 2.7 issues that "were not a big problem". Now we have the reservoirs falling off being "fixed" by Ford. Once again was "not a big problem" according to some here on B6G.

Now we just need Ford to acknowledge that the MIC top has been a train wreck and issue a "fix" for that. I just find it funny how when these issues are brought up there are all kinds of people saying how it is a "non issue" or "small beans" but yet Ford seems to being issuing recalls for these "non issues".
The MIC top is not a safety issue. Recalls I believe are due to it being a safety issue.

If you replace rear shocks, shouldn’t you replace the front shocks also. Any idea what it would cost a person to have the front shocks replaced with OEM?

Jeeze. I guess Ford got a little uncomfortable with Chrysler nipping at the toes of Ford's three year reign as most recalled brand. The amount of engines, roofs, and now shocks can't be helping their bottom line and one has to wonder how an automaker could continue to let things slide to this point where it's cost them billions. I just shake my head at how bad management is with some of these automotive brands.

Any recommendations for aftermarket shocks that do not change the ride height on a 21 badlands 4 door non-sas? :D

Mine wasn't showing up in the app, but I looked it up on the website using my VIN and found it. Here's the link, just type in your VIN: Ford Recalls | Ford Owner Support

Couple of positives with this. You will get shiny new yellow paint again. And the lower bolts will be loosened up for an aftermarket upgrade already. Noway any dealer is tightening them back like they were.

Many people blamed Bilstein for the design, but they were built to spec and a price point dictated by Ford. A few of us had noticed the faulty design back at launch. But the vocal majority was excited to gain offroad credibility by flaunting the bright yellow shock body along with the rEsErVoIrS at their local Cars & Coffee.

People would be best served to buy a different set than waiting for parts only for the next batch to yeet themselves. Installing the same (even if the reservoir is more securely attached) will likely result in the same corrosion issues. The reservoir, shock body, or the welds are not made with titanium.

The old adage of KISS applies. For 95% of drivers a 2.5" thick shock body far exceeds their needs. Of course, they gain no offroad cred as they flex at C&C.

With regards to actually paying the difference for Fox shocks, no dealer will be party to such an arrangement. Ford will only pay for the replacement. The dealer is obligated to replace them with the specified parts. One could always pay for the Fox shocks to be installed separately, but there is no "halfsies" by paying the difference and having Ford pay for the labor as part of the recall.
No doubt the extra reservoir capacity is wasted on majority of users, I thought it made little sense other than for image value.

My Bronco has the premium trouble free shock option which can be identified as Hitachi. ;)
