I made an offer to dealer in a county adjacent to the Columbia SC area yesterday. It's an abandoned 4 Door no Squatch, base Badlands soft and manual for 5K over MSRP. It had a blend date of July 12 and had been on their lot over month with an "market adjustment" of 15K over. So far crickets but if it hasn't sold in over a month for that I don't think it will.

Many nations are up there. Denmark for one. There are pros and cons to everything. There is no one place that exceeds in all categories.

And to the “go move there, then” mentality: have you heard of immigration law? Visas? Citizenship? If you were born here it’s the lowest barrier of entry to stay, so that makes the decision for most people, just like anywhere. Plus it’s not the worst…

Also, don’t act like there’s ONE experience to living in the USA. Go check the living conditions in some of our towns and cities compared to others. Go try to get a hospital bed anywhere in Idaho vs. say, San Francisco at the moment.

I made a simple comment about the innovation in the Chinese auto market. You turned it into a nationalist debate. Very defensive.

they’re the property of Ford, who makes them. Ford could do a better job of distributing the product they make and therefore own, like Tesla does. Or at least not like this. It isn’t socialist for a private company to control the means of distribution of capital it owns. It’s literally capitalist.

Yes, agree with most of what you say in this post -
By 'Robber-Barons' I was referring to some lousy double-talking dealers charging ADM's to reservations w agreed MSRP . . . I don't agree with defending them . . .

Yup, spent more than couple years overseas in various countries . . . know what you mean . . .
However, in the Annual 'Rule-of-Law vs Corruption' Index (Transparency International) - I believe US now ranks outside the best 20 countries . . .
It’s because dealerships have lobbied for legal protection, by the government, which allows them to rip people off and prevents us from exercising the free market to purchase direct from the factory. It’s crony capitalism, not capitalism. The government prevents the free market from offering the best product at the cheapest price. Homeboy is celebrating NOT capitalism haha

Yes, we know. Hundreds of threads posted here about X dealer having Y Broncos for sale at Z markup. It’s what happens when a brand new vehicle launches. Every single time without fail.

This site needs an auto-mod.

Yup, very interesting about 'lobbyists' . . 'crony capitalism' . . gov't corruption . . pols selling votes for campaign$ . . . . . all things which should be investigated/exposed by the '4th Estate' . . but since we have very little real journalism remaining in US MSM . . . most people don't notice . . . or at least don't see the root causes . . .

But who is 'Homeboy' ?? . . . lol . . .
Be careful you’ll get kicked in the teeth for posting the truth

It would be nice to see Ford do what Chevy is doing with the 2022 Corvettes. Their program is basically The longer the Corvette sits on their lot their allocation is affected this is Chevys way of addressing dealers they charge excessive price.

Without getting "political" about it, it's clear that dealerships are benefitting from and working to keep secure a protected marketplace... Not unlike any other guild, trade, or profession that has successfully created the same in the past.

This was all conjured up in your head. This was not a socialism manifesto. You need to step outside and get some air, my friend.

it never will be just a sales gimmick
Gonna be hard to enforce if the customer is walking away or can't get financed. Banks are tightening up their policies making it difficult for some to get credit or too costly. Considering the relatively small number of Broncos out there, there are an awful lot of them on lots for sale. Not many expected that 6 months ago.

plenty. Some don't even have a speed limit on the Autobahn. I know, I'm from there. Just ended up here by chance, not a single bit of more freedom here than there. Actually I can think of some lacking, can buy a beer at age 16, here not even adults can walk into a bar until 21, LOL.

My life here is no different than it would be in Germany or Austria, the two countries I grew up in. It's a bit different in bits and pieces, but nothing that stands out as a glaring oppression or super freedom here or there. All just propaganda IMO.

Now let's not side track this, but as a German I just had to chime in a bit. Prost!
