There is a lot of debate about that so youā€™ll get a lot of different answers.

Personally I like to change it after the engine break-in period, which for the EcoBoost engines is 1000 miles. Thatā€™s kind of the old-school recommendation for the first oil change, and admittedly it is probably overkill for modern engines, modern oil, and modern machining techniques. But there isnā€™t really such a thing as too many oil changes (though your wallet will hate you after awhile).

I think Fordā€™s recommendation is to just follow the oil-life monitor, which will probably tell you to change it every 5000 - 8000 miles or so.

I did my first one at 2k, second at 6k and doing every 5k from here on out. I'm a firm believer in early oil changes for a brand new engine. My dealer recommended every 5k from the start, but I like early maintenance.

I think the manual says 10k, and the oil life monitor on the app is at/around 10k.

But the manual also says it depends on use. If you off road, or tow then your oil life is shorter than if you just commute to and from work. So it depends on many factors.

I do all of mine at 5k or once a year whatever is first. It is easy to remember. Probably overkill as I use Amsoil products.

It also gives me a reason to crawl under the vehicle and put an eye ball on everything.

I like 5k also for that reason
Plus
It is somewhere i n the middle
Oil companies say like 3k ish
Car companies say 7500-10k
But I think i will do the first at
2500-
Second 5000

10k....... if it makes you sleep better do it earlier. No such thing as break in oil anymore. Tolerances are much better then 20 years ago. Having said that I did mine at 5k,lol.... makes me sleep better and I am old school. I like wasting money

I did the first one at 5k miles, and one every 5k since then. Personally donā€™t like the idea of going upwards of 8-10k miles between changes, especially on a DI turbo engine.

What mileage is recommended for first oil change?
Whenever the car tells you to do it. :)

I don't drive a lot (WFH), so I think I once read that no matter what you should at least do it once a year. So I bought my Bronco in Nov '21, got it's first oil change in Nov '22 when I had to get it's yearly inspection. I think I was around 6k miles?

I did my first at ~2,500 miles and will change it once a year after that. I have a short work commute and generally put about 7,500 miles on a year.

I believe turbo motors need the oil changed more often than motors without turbos. So 2500,5000 and then every 5000 after that
