Wishful thinking I know but, prior to any pre-production models being made available for viewing I remember seeing a patent posted for the Bronco to have a removable roll cage. As an aftermarket mod (a little cutting and welding) it is already possible to mod the wrangler cage, but what I am curious about and have not been able to find in any first-hand reviews is how the Bronco's roll cage is attached to the body. Obviously hoping to hear it is bolted on, but hoping someone who has seen it live can comment.

extremely big time illegal

no roll cage means you get turned into sausage 100% of the time in a rollover

Convertibles still without roll cages - Toyota Solara, Chrysler Sebring, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac Solstice and Lexus SC 430.

Also those convertibles with roll cages, they are often deployed upon impact.

If it was illegal to not have a roll cage wouldn’t every convertible vehicle have one? Not sure what would be illegal about it, just inadvisable to always run without it.

As for removing the one on the bronco, it’s got the airbag in the roll bar so that’s a major complication to that.

the only cars without roll cages are classic cars

all new convertibles have roll "bars" in the seats or they deploy on rollover

If you removed the rollcage on your new bronco and suffered a rollover you would be turned into paste

Pretty certain my camaro convertible has no such roll bar feature(don’t think the brand new ones do either). And know of many many convertibles that are no where near being “classic” without any kinda of roll bar or roll over features. But again, where is the legality to that? Just because they put one on a convertible doesn’t mean that legally have to. It’s a good idea so more common yes, especially the ones that only deploy in an accident. Plus legality doesn’t really effect off road driving, like bead lock wheels aren’t legal on road hence why the bronco wheels are just bead lock “capable” so in effect having a removable roll bar wouldn’t have a legal issue. Again I’m not advocating for it, just saying I don’t see anything legally wrong just inadvisable. Also big difference between roll cage and pop put bars

1. Not everything patented makes it to production.
2. The fact they’re on the bodies in the paint sample pictures leads me to believe they’re welded on.
3. Why would you want to remove the roll cage?

Pretty sure not bolted on.
Sawzall, angle grinder would get it off. Good luck

If I had money, tell ya what I'd do. I'd go down town and buy a Ford Bronco or 2. Then on the second one I would cut the cage off, lower it an inch or 2, glass up some slick door inserts, do the turbo and intercooler upgrade to either motor, then slap some western wheels and sidepipes on it. Then drive it where ever I want and pay off all the traffic cops and safety inspectors because im RICH B!{(#
