I could see wanting to keep the rear MIC roof portion on, but remove the rear glass (along with the front roof panels). Somewhat like my old 4Runner with moonroof and roll-down rear glass.

Any thoughts on how much effort it might be?

If we had a tailgate where the glass rolled down into it... that's the dream. I think the soft top option kinda killed it or had a hand in killing it.

I haven't seen it in person, but "life, uh... finds a way."

Lots of effort unless someone comes up with a kit... which will take lots of effort once.

I asked legend that very thing early on. And wasn't sure it could be done.... And he's a mechanical dude.

Should take any more time than it takes to remove the doors and fender flares together. Only concern would be putting it back on as there is probably a little adjustment in the hinge bolts. Only other option would to be buy a set of replacement hinges and drill them out and modify them for a easily removable pin. Just always remember to pull the struts before the pins.

I used to plow with the cap window of my truck up, drive around with the CJ7 hatch open too. Curious why pulling it fully off would be worth it. 🤷

Gotta see the hinges first... not that I’m ingenious... but I do understand hinges... lol

With my Wrangler hard top I can just open the rear window. The struts will keep it up when driving. I would think that can be done with the Bronco also. I don't know if that answers your needs though.

That might work fine.

I can see how someone with a modular 2-door top would want to do this. Removing all of the glass, the gunner hatch, and the two front panels would make for a quick and easy one-person job.

This question again.

And then again, I’ll say that with Jeeps, we all just flip up the rear glass, close the gate, and drive around like that.

And then again everyone who doesn’t drive a Jeep will tell me how crazy that is and how it will never work.

(removing the rear glass will not be “easy”... you’ll have to unbolt hinges, disconnect struts, then remove the defrost and wiper controls electrical connections... the later perhaps particularly difficult based on where those actual connectors fall)

And perhaps you missed our ignored it, but legend himself wasn't sure it could be done. Don't dismiss that..
