After a rough experience with the dealership (taking way to long to complete recall repair and broken and missing clips long story) I have my bronco back almost a week with new /replacement shocks.
I have questions... are these shocks same rate and valve strategies as the original but a more robust remote reservoir?
I ask because after getting my rig back something seems off. No it's not in my head.
Ride seems stiffer? Or like the shocks are not balanced in the rear. Rear seems a little taller. It seems very prone now to that "kick out" bumpsteer almost feel in the rear. Highway over bridges will wonder a bit. I know some complaints of this were made by others when they first drove the bronco due to the trac bar rear design. Mine was never like this I expected it to be but was always amazed how well it tracked.
I will be checking everything to make sure it is tight after seeing the half a work the technician did it would not surprise me if I find something.
Does the weight of vehicle need to be on the shock when final tq is done? It crossed my mind there may be a Slight preload in the bushings if this was not done. Kinda like control arms would.
I hate to even contact this particular dealer again unless I find something obvious, as it will probably take a week for them to look at it again drive it and go seems OK.
Thanks for any ideas, experience/ info on this.
