Gotcha - that makes sense.

I'm just afraid a lot of people are expecting this to be a big scheduling week and when it's not they're going to think Ford is dropping the ball, when in reality it isn't supposed to be a big week.
Ford already dropped the ball. Now they're running after it and keep kicking it further away when they try to pick it up.

Expect another "When is the email this week?" thread to drop soon...

Rumor was the next round would be the week of the 19th. Wut you hearin'?
Would make sense. If timing holds, next week could be week 1 of the next round, which would be only FE scheduling, then the week of the 19th would be week 2, which is the big scheduling week.

All that said, only conjecture that the timing is right. It's possible the next round of 4-week scheduling could start later.

Not sure how you get that. Very little cleanup would seem to indicate the first two weeks of scheduling went reasonably well.

Apparently the reason there is a chip shortage is in large part because auto manufactures anticipated lower new car sales so they ordered fewer chips… but it turns out demand was just as high.

Perhaps they didn’t low ball the chips for the Bronco, or they were ordered before Covid hit and they thought car sales would be down.
I think that's a rumor that's been pushed around by people who aren't truly in-the-know and are speculating. Chip orders aren't made so far in advance that shortages would exist today if that was the reason. A year ago, yes, it looked like the floor was dropping on car sales. But then reality showed otherwise. It's been several quarters since it was painfully obvious that the floor wasn't falling. So, while I might have expected a shortage to have affected 2020Q2 or even Q3, those mistakes should have long-ago been corrected by any barely-competent supply chain manager.

Also, I recently read a report that one supplier expects to be "caught up" in a month. It's certainly hard to be "catching up" if the problem was low demand rather than reduced supply.

Posted this afternoon by BN Mods:

What items will likely delay my Bronco from being built sooner?

· Hard top
· Sasquatch package
· Tow package
· 2.7L engine

Chips are Not an issue with Bronco:
Awesome news on the chips....but I'm still 4 for 4 on the rest of the delay list. Dangit!

they retooled their lines for non-automotive chip production.

Now they are not as quick to switch back as they made commitments to others when the automakers vacated their capacity.
Citation needed.
