She is an employee...
Didnt Ford specifically tell the dealers not to let employees order Broncos to sell. YEP. The dealer was in the wrong from the get go. If anything the dealer needs to be turned into Ford not just for what they did to the OP, but how they tried to game the system on Bronco orders. I wonder how many employees ordered Broncos to work the same exact scam. The dealer just got greedy in the end and now everyone knows.
Have you called out the dealer yet? To the forum? Ford? I think they need to be called out for what they were doing. Dealers that played by the rules were hurt by these tactics.

When my dealer was doing some shady things early on, I emailed the Ford Regional Rep and he obviously talked to the dealer because I got a call right away with a very different tone.

I used google and linked-in to find the Ford regional rep.

Good luck.
This sounds like the best advice yet.

Well, you didn't go about the process the correct way from the get-go. In February of 2021, Ford was still taking original reveal-event reservations and you were still under the March 19th, 2021 deadline to get an order in. The original cutoff date for reservations to get a Model Year 2021 (MY '21) order (build) was September 19th, 2020, so you most likely, in February 2021 would have been in line at the dealership for a MY '22 build. Since your February 2021 actions took place a lot of things have changed due to commodity restraints and the MIC top issues, which has thrown the entire reservation/order/allocation plan out of whack. Ford in now producing what orders it can based on commodities and dealership allocation timing (sortofmaybe) to collect as much cash as it can; it has a hot product to recoup lost revenues from COVID with.

The AG isn't going to touch this with a 10-footer. Nor will Ford help. Hope you can get your $500 back and punt.
Agreed he didnt go about it the right way, but it sounds like the dealer strung him along the entire time agreeing to everything and telling him that it was ok until they decided to sell it to someone else. The dealer would have wanted all the employee reservations to go to people to have in their back pocket. Of course the market turned and now these are worth more than gold.
It sounds like he did try and get it put in his name at a certain point. I can understand why Ford wouldnt want to touch it because they would have to acknowledge that the dealer specifically tried to game the system and discipline them, which they probably dont want to do.

I sent ford a message for u
I have a related, but not identical, issue. My dealership used my reservation to order a Bronco that has been sold to someone else- WITHOUT TELLING ME. Their excuse is that it was an error on Ford's part. The only way this was discovered was via Ford's emails letting me know that my vehicle had been ordered and was going to be built.
When I contacted the salesman, he pretended to be baffled. He would not give me a manager to speak to, nor would he provide me with a phone number to anyone at Ford. (I tried customer service several times, but without a VIN, they were only able to assign a case number.) Fortunately, the family that owns the dealership is incredibly ethical. I know one of the family members, who I reached out to and she ultimately put me in touch with a manager at the dealership (Covert Ford in Austin).
He, too, acted as if he did not know what happened. This is "bologna" as we all know. It's quite apparent what they (or the salesman, Josh) did.
They have ordered the correct vehicle for me now, and that order also has my name on it. My guess is they ordered the correct vehicle for me using allocation provided by Ford, because when I login to my Ford account, the original vehicle is still associated with my reservation whereas the correct vehicle is not.
With research, I am able to get a few updates on the build of my correct Bronco. A regional manager put it at priority 2, which Covert decreased to a 9, then a 19, and after I spoke to the dealership manager, it popped back up to a 2. I do not receive updates on the build because, as I was saying above, I only get them on my reservation.
Now, my husband and I are considering buying both Broncos ordered in my name. I spoke to the manager at Covert to let him know this is the case. Low and behold, they have pre-sold that first Bronco to someone else.
Thoughts? Can they do that if it is under my reservation? Do you feel like I am being scammed? Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love feedback, helpful hints, anything to put the fun back into what was supposed to be the great adventure of turning 50 (now 51 after waiting so long😄 ) and becoming an empty nester.
I see that you were able to escalate another message to Ford. Are you able to help me, too? Thank you!!

I would do anything in my power to help anyone. My situation dramatically changed after I posted on here. I don't who had the contacts and I don't blame them for not making that power public if that's what's fixed my problem. I created a Twitter just to try and get I'm front of Mike Levine and I never was so much as acknowledged. I went through Ford Motor Company on Twitter (they did respond) but it was just going in circles between a bunch social media specialists not equipped to handle much of anything. I don't know what fixed my situation whether it was internally at the dealership realizing the mess they created or someone from here having the contacts necessary. I was fully prepared to start rhe order process all over with another dealer so just when it looks bleakest ....sometimes good things happen. I hope for the best and if there was anything I could do ....believe me I would.

Yeah, let’s keep the “being associated with gayness is an insult” thing alive as long as we can! Maybe we should call the general manager a woman too. That’ll teach ‘em.

Tool.
Well, Stinkfist and Prison Sex , also Tool, so there you have it ...

glad this got resolved, maybe that sales guy just had a really bad day or who knows what. Enjoy your Bronco, not that I have to tell you that!
And lots of fun with your kids making adventures! That's what it's all about, the process is wonky, but in the end really doesn't matter. It's an epic vehicle, hits all the spots for me.

Sorry to hear this - all I’ve encountered from Covert in Austin was sketchy stuff like this.

It is really nice to see one of these situations end in a positive way. It seems like too many of these stories, lately, do not have a favorable ending.
