Um they built the Explorer there for the past 10 years, along side the Taurus.

The launch was a bunch of different things coming together with really bad timing.
new explorer was a completely different, rear biased platform thus requiring considerable retooling

Well they have made various automobiles there (Chicago), but for the new explorer Ford dumped in 1 billion to retool the plant, and it wasn't done correctly so they had to shift end production to another plant to fix the Explorers that did come out of that plant at first.

The plant that the Bronco is going to be made ..was specifically designed for the Bronco and Ranger..and has been in operation making Ranger Pickups.

We were just notified that Ford canceled the Bronco event due to coronavirus concerns. What a bummer. If I get more updates I'll let you guys know.

Here's what the email said:

“While we looked forward to hosting you for our Bronco Brand Immersion and all-new Bronco embargoed technical briefing next week, the safety of our employees, partners and media friends remains paramount. With that in mind, we’ve made the decision to cancel our event due to ongoing coronavirus concerns. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We appreciate your understanding. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates regarding the return of Bronco.”
