I was just thumbing through old photos and realized that the reveal "Nintendo" Bronco has a different rear suspension setup.

Obviously this is a totally custom built non-functional model.. and the adjustable coilover makes sense to also fine-tune how the mannequin looks... but I thought this was interesting nonetheless.

(Also looks like the driveshaft isn't installed either.)

That's what she said. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Never gets old
Actually it does get old.
On the bright side they did get rid of the rear swaybar ;)

That's not even your conventional "ride height adjustable" coilover. That's pre-load adjustable, which yes can accomplish the same thing. Or someone put it on upside down:LOL: Prototype/SEMA show off builds are never built half ass and wrong to get them rolled out the door. LOL

“Upside down” orientation, different doesn’t equal automatically wrong. It’s an inverted shock design, handles alot more sideways forces, especially in high speed off-road application like rallying where they are subject to extreme rough track/race conditions.

That's not a 9" though...
Sure looks like it, just with an updated housing. What do you say it is?

Edit: The pinion section does look a little different. What axel is this?

I can't identify it exactly. On a 9" the bottom 2 bolts that hold the center section in are partially covered by the pinion. Just enough that you can't use a ratchet and socket to get the bottom 2 nuts off, you must use a box end wrench.

I'm not a rear end expert, just know the 9 inches from racing with them.

I've had a couple myself ;). I don't know of any other modern (1960+) Ford axle that has a drop out 3rd member, & there are numerous 9" housings & 3rd member styles.

That is def a 9" ford center section. There is different versions over the years, but improvements were made for bolt access to use studs as well. That is a cast "stock" 1pc pinion support version. not a billet race unit. The aftermarket drop, bolt on pinion support and offset pinions are what get tricky on the mounting bolts.

Edit: now the more I look at it that may be a Toyota/Landcruiser style 3rd member! With the long tapered 1pc pinion nose.
