Congrats, Rick. Looking forward to following along with your journey. I was stationed on Whidbey Island in the early/mid 90’s while in the Navy. The wife and I enjoyed living out there immensely. Got to make it back and see how much it’s changed one of these days.

Guessing the dinner went pretty well... since the bottle looks mostly empty. 🙂

Lol I already have boxes of stuff to go on the bronco as soon as it gets home. I have all my rock lights, communications, trail trash bag, windshield sunshade, and I'm making a multi-tire inflate/deflate system. This is just a few of the things I have. Welcome to the world of offroading where your wallets always empty. Lol

You've obviously never owned horses or sailboats! And "how do you make a small fortune in the horse business, you start with a large fortune." So basically what you're telling me is I'm getting into another expensive "hobby", oops. ;)

Little place holder until I can get back from Moab later tomorrow.

This was in a rental Rubicon on the White Rim trail in Canyonlands. The next day was mostly in Moab but I can't post any Bronco pics, so you get a rando off-roading pic.

These rigs are great fun and the folks in stock Rubicons also had fun on all the trails we were on, so I was visualizing Broncos hitting the trails!

Curious if you made the entire loop? Was thinking about the White Rim trail. IMO the Bronco is a great vehicle for this route. The camera on hardsrabble alone when you only have sky visible through the front windshield is worth its weight in gold.

Love the table. I deleted my posts, I’m sorry for not being considerate of your thread, it won’t happen again.

Oh, nice work by the way.

Here are some more pics from our day of driving the Rubicon on the White Rim trail in Canyonlands National Park.

Unfortunately I don't have any of the great pics from inside Moab for obvious reasons.

This trail is widely considered one of the most pituresque in the area with visitors and locals alike enjoying it. We only drove ~25 miles of the 100 mile loop as we weren't going to make it a 4-day camping trip.

Laythrop Canyon Trail descent just inside of Canyonlands NP. You go down about 2,500' in a hurry. Thankfully this was done in the wet and where some of the corners were rutted and clayed over to ruin traction.

The switchbacks looking up from the bottom. Full disclosure: The white Jeep in front of us was a massive ass-hat. This guy was in a Rubicon with 33" tires on a moderate (at worst) trail, and going about 3 mph while avoiding every puddle to keep his precious white Jeep clean of any mud or debris, not ONE GODDAMN TIME did he use his rear view mirrors! Us and a half dozen other people had difficulties passing him and he would stop at the narrowest point, or force people behind him to stop at unsafe locations so he could reach out and take pictures.... Retired Arizona driver.... F this guy.

Muscleman arch in the foreground. This was more impressive than every arch in Arches National Park. Just do this trail and save the time of going to Arches!

The trail down to the Colorado river. The bottom of the overhanging rock was at level elevation to us, everything below that was the ~22% grade. Lots of fun and some tricky rocks just around this corner!

Loaner Jeep came equipped with a Bestop top. Really thought they sounded stupid at first, but in practice it was very convenient to be able to flip the top row back. Bronco will be better with the hard panels, but if you go soft top and have the budget, this was pretty darn nice!

Can't beat some of the views! This was the Potash side road back. 31 miles of rocks, didn't save a single minute but we loved every minute of it!

Tons more fun than the sour-puss comments in the main threads that are all about being upset with this process.

We had an absolute blast out there with the Jeep and I'm more excited than ever for Bronco! Plus the better half figured out she's not all that excited to drive on the difficult trails, so more seat time for me and more/longer potential trips when the opportunity arises.

Definitely agree on the main area content. Pretty nauseating trying to wade through some of that stuff out there.

What’s next on the agenda for your build, since you’re back from vacation? The green one, not the red one.
