Rick, As usual...well played.
Those are actually cups I flaked for some friends. Pretty fun process to use candies and the flake and dare I say, they didn't turn out that bad for a first attempt at everything. Certainly more experience would have had them turn out better.

Small update: picked out a fantastic green color. Wish they made Bronco in this!

Not really a Bronco update, but I was honored to spend some time this past weekend helping a buddy get his '39 Model A ready for the charity cruise this weekend.

And yes, I realize those are '42 spindles with '41 brake bars and '38 steering rods. It's a bit of a franken build front end resulting in a drop of around 20".

I remember driving down that Laythrop Canyon Trail back in '97 with my F-350 Long Bed Crew Cab, what fun that was!

In doing an oil change on the 2019 Ranger Lariat, I thought I'd share a few things that could make Bronco oil changes easier.

The plastic screw-clips Ford uses to hold the fender shield on over the oil filter are terrible. I drilled out the holes from 1/4" to 5/16" to accommodate some excellent push clips that Mitsubishi had used on various areas of the Evolution. These bastards are about $4 each, but I had swapped all 36 clips (yes, thirty-six) that held on the undercarriage tray on my Evo9 from the crummy screw clips to these push clips. They held up at dozens of track days and even if you hit a curb and shear off the top of the clip, they will hold.

Anyway, on topic, you only need to replace 4 clips on the Ranger to have access to the oil filter.

I tend to write the date and mileage in on filters as a way of logging them and matching them to Blackstone Labs oil analysis.

Not sure why people bitch about filter access on Ranger (and likely Bronco), it's very accessible with a strap wrench.

The only bash plate that mildly impacts access to the oil pan drain plug is held on with 2 15mm bolts, then loses loses front bolts and it slips out. You can do this 1-handed without thr plate falling on you, it's well thought out.

Total time, including drilling out the push clip holes was 35 minutes. The oil change can be done in 15 minutes using these tools:

- strap wrench
- 3/8" drive ratchet wrench
- 15mm socket
- flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver if you use factory clips.

That's it. Easy job that took all of one (1) blue paper towel to clean up. No drips, everything laid out well and accessible.

Update #2: Totally not a Bronco-related day, but the garage is about to get cramped again when the '51 comes home from paint.

This has been in the works for about 2 years so don't take this as a nod towards what direction Bronco paint colors should go, but she's a beaut in green!

Looking at about 6-10 months to get all the stainless and chrome polished, then re-install everything and start on the custom interior. This will be ready for summer driving, 2022.
