is anybody having trouble with rocks chipping the paint on lower areas of the doors on sasquatch equipped models? mine slings gravel damaging the paint . I installed weather tech front mud flaps but it still throws gravel at the doors through the gap at the top of the flap and the lower edge of the flare . will ford step up to address the design problem ? I only have 2000 miles on my Bronco , but the paint is taking a beating . very poor design by ford ..

The oem SAS tires are known to be prolific at stone throwing. Unfortunately it’s very common

Yes.
Many threads on here already about it as well.
The stock tires for the Squatch pkg. love to pick up and fling rocks.
Different tires are a lot better at minimizing it, but not 100%.
I have chips on every panel and in my door jambs.

Design problem? The wide stance is what gives the Bronco it's look. Sounds more like a poor choice of flaps if you travel on mostly gravel roads.

I've got the Weathertechs on mine and they seem to be working just fine. Be sure you have the correct ones for your model.

Regarding paint chips from the Sasquatch tires, most people choose either - PPF (paint protection film), mud flaps, or different tires. If you'd like to look over a variety of different posts regarding that, just click here.

I personally went with full PPF, because I take it off-road a good amount, as well as some Gatorback mud flaps. I like being able to quickly remove the bottom half of the mud flaps to gain some ground clearance back. When I'm just daily driving, the flaps stay on full time.

Running boards + Rek Gens took care of it for me. I had the dealer install the running boards before I picked it up since I was aware of the situation from the folks up in here...

Another arrow in the quiver to defend against the flying debris can be the use of rock sliders that have a step or similar protrusion outward from the slider.

This has been known basically since day 1 on this forum, unfortunately. The solution is mud flaps. Zero issues.

My SAS rear fender flairs are taking a beating. There are some pretty good divit’s in them. The paint is probably talking a beating also, but I consider it part of Off-Roading.

No offense, but are brush marks a Ford design problem too?

Ive put the $$$ Ford front mudflaps on mine because of this issue, should come from factory if you ask me, its just ridiculous.

But they did the trick.

Im considering PPF as well for offroading....

RokBlokz XL mudflap front and rear. I have them assembled and ready to install the day my Bronco comes home.

It’s a lot of the reason why I went with a set of Badlands 33 takeoffs for mine. The BF Goodrich KO2 are great tires, super happy with them and they don’t throw hardly anything. Sides look like they did from day one. I have an outer banks with standard painted flares. The wheels come out to just under the end of the flare, which is exactly the look I was going for.

Agree, this is an excellent topic to try a search (and literally any search will generate Info on the subject.... Did the OP even try to search first? Oh right, 2023).

Just put paint protection film over the entire vehicle (y)
